Fremont Police Department offers $100,000 signing bonus for new officers

I remember I wanted to be an officer for the longest. Lower middle class & raised in Oakland. Yes, got into fights did some experimental drugs and that was about it. No jail or prison ever, no DUI, no arrest never stepped foot in jail. Sure, some traffic violations (red lights, stops etc). I grew up fast because I was raised in rich bully land Oakland but managed to stay away from the real problems. Applied to various PDs across the Bay Area & no wonder there’s a shortage all across. My background didn’t pass, too many fights in Schools. To sum it up, they NEVER WANT YOU TO EVEN URINATE IN A TREE ILLEGALLY. That’s how prestigious background check they do. Even Alameda county, when I applied over 7K applied & I heard only like 2 got hired. Many ppl since then have left looking for that profession, after defund the police movement & social media amendment videos nobody wants to be a cop anymore. They have effectively shot themselves in the foot. You’d think they’d they want ppl to apply but they discourage you in the year long hiring process. But, yet they are begging ppl in TV for officers. Down the years, my best friend who grew up in Lake Tahoe moved to the Bay Area, applied & got the job. They told him that he was basically never corrupted growing up in a small town. My friend didn’t even see African Americans till he moved down to the bay. You wonder why departments all across the bay are suffering. The backgrounds are ridiculous! These ppl that make those decisions to hire & dismiss are completely living in an untouched fantasy world. Even Oakland (whom nobody wants to work for) won’t hire because of those strict impossible needs. Ridiculous!!
