French 75 by Queen of Cocktails

Check out this wonderful and simple cocktail that is definitely light and not super sweet. Stacy Garrett makes this cocktail using vodka for herself because she is not of gin (although the FY gin is AMAZING). Feel free to experiment with different simple syrup flavors to really get creative with this drink. Seems so sophisticated but is so simple.
We first learned of this drink because we were sitting at the bar of a local hotel in Portland listening to the June Bugs play and we saw the bartender make this unusual drink so we asked him what it was and he told us and Jim has been hooked ever since.
Recipe:
In a martini shaker with ice add:
1 1/2 ounces of Gin (we used FY but also use Tanqueray)
1 ounce Lemon Juice
1 ounce Simple Syrup (this is where you can get creative)
Shake until nice and cold.
Add to a large champagne glass or we use a wine glass or hey, use whatever glass you have (right Patti).
Then top with about 4 ounces of champagne, we use a mini bottle of Cooks Brut and use the whole thing so you can definitely alter the proportions if you want.
Now you are done!
