Also famous for exchanging fire with the USS Massachusetts. The Jean Bart put one round into the Massachusetts and you can see the damage when touring the ship in Fall River, Mass, but the Jean Bart was then disabled by subsequent rounds the USS Massachusetts put into the ship which jammed the main gun turret.

"Massa" was by one 194 mm shell from an old, pre ww1 costal fortress gun, and one 130 mm from a destroyer ! Never, by any 380mm shells, one of thouse would have caused severe damage, or even sunk the Massa !

Thanks for uploading. It's pronounced "Shan Bart". Jean is the French version of John and just as widespread in use so you're making a whole lot of Frenchmen terribly unhappy (not that anyone could tell the difference, mind). Her sister is pronounced Ree-She-Lee-Uh (more or less). There's really only one of him but he's the inventor of the table-knife, honored as the man who saved the world from people picking their teeth with their knives. Among minor other achievements only the French would care about.
