Attaching that secondary cleat with the wing nuts is a clever trick - I may try that on a couple of my taller holders. You know, as part of my own quest for tool storage bliss.

Excellent! Note that I drilled large holes for the bolts to go through so that the cleat could move around a little in order to fully engage the lower cleat. I did that after I discovered that my cleats were not always spaced exactly the same and the wing nut mount fixed that problem nicely.

Thanks! This gets a very long tool off the shelf and out of the way. We love it!

Hi! I initially subscribed after seeing your bed frame build, a couple of days ago. This video confirms I made a good decision. I think I will be watching the French cleat playlist next. Thanks for the great content!

Welcome! And very glad you like our projects. We try to make stuff we can use and we like to make it simple, because we are lazy.

Nicely done. Sorry I will miss you in Atlanta this year. I live in East Tennessee and close by, but I am busy at that time. But you previewed in your announcement video that you would answer why orange for the workshop. Why orange???? Have fun at the event.

Sorry we won't see you. Everything is orange because Hannah pointed out that all wood shops are wood-colored because unpainted wood is used for everything. She wanted more color and more light so we upgraded the lights and used orange as our base color. Orange being her favorite color. Turns out she was right on all counts. The shop looks amazing and with the improved lighting we can now actually see the things we are working on!
