Yes they eat less because they are full for longer because fat is satiating. French eat less rancid seed oils too

I think not snacking between meals is a very important factor to the French paradox.

The comments below tell me that most people are in denial. That guy in the video is right. The French just used to eat less, I say used to because this is not true anymore.

I ate slow the last meal and was amazed that I got full before the plate was clean. But it took about 25 minutes. Seems they are on to something. Plus, they eat good food.

I don't think it's as simple as this video states. Eating slowly is much better, everyone knows this. But additionally, the French eat foods higher in fat and fat intake increases the protein hormone leptin in the body which is a great appetite and metabolic regulator. They also walk much more. They also cook their own food more often which means they eat fresh veg etc.

Harvard is still tryg to misdirect us all as usual. The SAD diet with all the carbs suggested for Anericans to eat as part of a Healrhy diet has been cauaing and driving a Fat epidemic. We need to eat more animal fats and protein and less grains and processed cereals etc. like what is keeping the French healthier than the doctors at Harvard. French eat Big Macs faster ...ha ha ya ha ha ha..shame on you Harvard. Kowtowing to Corporate Food. Hahaha..shame!

There is no paradox. Saturated fats are the healthiest fats out there.

Exactly, the controlled trials have all exonerated saturated fat as a nutrient of concern, yet we still call it the french paradox. People are so dumb

Apart from the said, French walk way more steps than Americans; they don't snack between the meals; they're less stressed when they dine having this culture of taking a relaxing break to enjoy your food in spite of all odds; they drink red wine (resveratol burns cholesterol!) and plain water instead of super sweetened beverages; and, as a rule, French people eat less processed foods - and more quality produce unlike Americans, British, etc.

Another video gave a response I also believed which was that cardiovascular deaths were underreported and that the French recently started eating high saturated fats, I wonder which is true
@christopherstewart9874 Жыл бұрын
The French have not started eating high saturated fats RECENTLY. They've been eating high saturated fats from the very beginning. They just never stopped eating saturated fats. We in America have been taught for 50 years or so that fat is bad. Since about then our diet has increasingly included much more sugar, highly processed carbs and seed oils, all of which contribute to heart disease much more than saturated fats. The French Paradox is a paradox only if you refuse to accept that your core belief (that saturated fat is bad) is just plain wrong.

why is that a paradoks? isnt it just a normal way of eating? sadly many other countries have lost that right common sense way
@joerandom1572 жыл бұрын
Stupid advice. Vegetable oils increase appetite, saturated fat decreases appetite. People eat to satiety, not a number

I eat way too fast but I eat high fat and very low carb. I always ate very fast but when I started high fat and low carb, I went from 207 to 157 in 5 months. At 5'10" I am thin and healthy now.

The truth is that simple. There is no paradox. The diet -heart hypothesis is false.
