I am no expert but I think a beautiful terra cotta color that is lighter than the standard terra cotta leaning to the lighter side of thousand island dressing would be a lovely wall color! This sounds so ridiculous doesn’t it? My bedroom is done in a thousand islandish color that I sponge painted with a pearly green wash. All my family call it the watercolor room, almost like a limed terra cotta pot. I love it and it matches everything! You are a dedicated woman with beautiful ideas!

For what it's worth, I painted my 70's (no natural light) kitchen in BM Chantilly Lace. It's a clean white that is neither warm nor cool, but it looked like I installed new lights because it was so bright and beautiful.

I’ve lived without and with a dishwasher, would hate to do without. Normally 1 is more than enough but when my family comes I could use 2. I love the kitchen updates because I love to cook and bake, am fairly new here and a Gardner too so am excited to see gardening in the North.

The work you guys do is amazing! But do you ever ask yourself "Did we bite off more than we can chew?" I only have 2 kids (both grown now) but when they were little I know we couldn't have done this much work! We did do a cosmetic update to the 1950s home we lived in, but nothing of the magnitude you're working on. Kudos to your energy and all the help from hubby and the kids 🥰👍👍

The salvaged windows have so much special history! What a cool renovation project. My grandparents retired in Northern Wisconsin and it is sad that many of the old resorts and supper clubs are no longer the way I remember them growing up :( But it's heartening that there are also designers that want to keep and restore the original building and fixtures.

I would paint it Maddona Lily, it’s what my home is painted and it’s such a clean creamy buttery color that’s very neutral and makes the rooms look so bright! I know whatever you pick it’ll be beautiful. There’s sooo many beautiful colors out there. You’re really getting so much done! I know as a gardener that there’s such a gravitational pull to get in the garden and leave the world behind. Enjoy!

Angella, you should paint the kitchen a very pale yellow. It will make everything blue in the room pop especially your beautiful stove! In my old home the kitchen was on the north side of the house and in it I inherited a blue 1950s stove. I painted the room a pale warm yellow and all the accents I did were different shades of blue. Everyone immediately when they walked in used to say the room was so bright and cozy! I hope this idea inspires you as you design your new kitchen. Thank you also for all the wonderful videos!

Hello Angela! I’m so glad you are doing better! The kitchen is coming along splendidly! 🎉. Quick question: have you considered a high gloss creamy color for the walls in the kitchen..? Or a light green leaning toward a celery with a yellowish undertone..? That way you would be using a neutral and whatever decorative or seasonal changes you make will pop! Just a suggestion tho… I know whatever you choose will be INCREDIBLE! You have an amazing sense of style! 💃🏻🎉 Can’t wait to see the evolution of your new kitchen! 😊

I can't wait to get rid of my dishwasher..... but then, I am now on my own. I just couldn't handle the noise. And it took an hour for it to go through all cycles. It was maddening for me. But that's me. But I am treating myself to a luxury farmhouse, kind of trough sink. that has a back so no more nasty stuff splashing behind the sink. (ICK!!). But what I really, really want to do is paint my ceiling like morning sky, With wispy clouds and swallows flying. This isn't daunting me, but the cathedral ceiling that is about sixteen foot up in the center is. I think I could manage it with extensions on my rollers and brushes, except for masking and protecting the ceiling fan. Suggestions???

Angela, the French use a soft peach color with the French Blues. I painted a friend's living room, with one that reflected a lot of light in it, it lit up the room, and it even glowed depending on the daylight. It would take your breath away when you walked in the room.

Happy Mother's Day Angela. I hope you get to do something special tomorrow. I have a design tip for you. If you want something to be the focal point in a room then the paint should be a neutral color because the eye will then go to your stove. The stove and tile being the focal point in the room. If you paint everything blue then it's not going to stand out as much. By the way your skin looks amazing and your hair, you look like you could be in your twenties.

Hello Angela I thoroughly enjoyed your informative video. It's inspiring to see the dedication you put into each tile, one by one. Your attention to detail is truly remarkable. Regarding your advice on following one's gut instinct, I can't agree more. My experience with painting my home yellow resonates deeply, and your suggestion of a light blue with white accents sounds refreshing and inviting. Thank you for the joy and positivity you bring, especially during challenging times. Your videos are a bright spot in my day. While I may not be able to join you until 2026, I eagerly anticipate future projects with you. Warm regards,

Don't worry, you still have better weather, and you're farther south than me. And you didn't get the -40 Celsius that hit us up here in Alberta last January. Thank God I didn't lose power to keep my furnace working, but my pipes froze and so did my septic. Plus, because all of that my hot water tank stopped working. Two weeks of dish washing in tubs, very grateful for camping toilets, and I have a couple grown kids not far away, so we could have showers and wash clothing. "What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger". So true.

Hi Angela! I’m from Florida and work for a GC and permitting here is a nightmare!! Do you have to get permits for all of the work you do? Here we have to even just for changing out existing windows for same-we have to for sure get permits to include engineering for structural changes like adding/removing new window or door openings, walls, all electrical and plumbing, etc. Has dealing with that been prohibitive or is the process easy in WI?
