I love everything on your table especially the pottery pitchers; simply beautiful. My mother passed away last year and I inherited her silverware. It’s heavy with a lovely flower design. It was stored in a velvet lined box and we only used it on holidays. I remember polishing it every year just before Christmas. I am now using it everyday. I see no reason for those lovely pieces to remain closed in a box. Please keep sharing your wonderful finds as you continue to discover France. ❤️🙏

I really loved this video, it represented everything I love about French vintage tableware settings. I’ve begun a small vase and jug collection over the last 3 years but haven’t begun a plates collection yet. Uh oh. I hope it’s not too addicting because I might be on the hunt.

Merci!! I am happy you say this. I wanted to improve the audio for this video but it meant I had to use another camera and I made a mistake and I had almost thrown away the footage where I talk to the camera because it was too dark. But I decided to share it anyway and do better next time. So thank you for saying this! It helps me to be less harsh on myself.

I love the brown/gold cups and the container the candle is in. I didn’t catch the whole name of the pottery and wouldn’t know how to spell it, but it starts with a ‘G’, I believe. I really love the palette of the pottery. Your table looks so warm, inviting and beautiful!
@FrenchCountryLife2 жыл бұрын
I have used various here, but none with a G I believe? Do you mean Gien? I talked about this brand in an earlier video. The items here are by Digoin, Salins and Saint Amand. The terre de fer is by Saint Amand and Digoin Sarreguemines and the brown cups and bowl with the candle are by Digoin. Hope this helps!

I LOVE this video. I love how you explain things about the objects. One suggestion - it would be great if you could spell the name of the items that are difficult for us non French-speaking people to understand. I'm specifically speaking about the Gris. I saw the spelling on the bottom of one of the pitchers. Sometimes, I like to look them up and buy the product or object online. I did see that you did spell out the name of some of the items. That was fantastic! I was already subscribed but, now I'm going to go back and watch all of your videos.

By activating the subtitling, people who want to follow the Tiny House build and don't speak/understand Dutch, still can watch the videos ( kzbin.info/door/3M1s_yan9EGd1GDOndTKgA ). Activate the subtitling and via the setting change the language to English (or any other language you prefer). It's a rough automated translation, but for sure you get the idea of what is explained in the videos.

Leaded crystal glasses & decanters are dangerous to one’s health. Use them only for decorative purposes.
@baydreamer012 жыл бұрын
The yellowish color on silver is the early stage of tarnish. It will turn black eventually. All of your silver is tarnished and unappetizing. While it's safe to eat with, who wants to put that in their mouth? The table setting would look better if you hand polished the silver, and the beautiful details will show better too. Tarnished silver is equivalent to leaving spots on your crystal glasses, which is also unappetizing.
@FrenchCountryLife2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment! I actually don’t use this silver to eat with, but felt this worn look matches the look of this table best. To my knowledge, when silver turns yellow it is either dirty and needs cleaning but with lower quality silver plated pieces it is the silver plating that has been polished off over time leaving you with the nickel silver that is underneath which also has this yellowish shine to it. I like both looks but use clean silver for eating. Thanks for sharing this, I realize I did not mention any of this in the video.
