As an Hispanic american english and spanish are my two languages that I use commonly but a recent trip to Paris felt like a final test to the few words and phrases that I still remembered from High School basic French class. Everything is in French so I survival instinct takes over and I paid attention to how people talk.

Sorry man, can't quite agree on that. While it's true that the US have fairly little contact with other countries geographically and culturally speaking, it's undeniable that with the internet as a learning tool, that small obstacle was well taken care of. As for the whole "we live in a place that much of the world's population woud love to be in" that's kind of a rude simplification. I for one know way too many people who thinks the US is not that much of a country to begin with, though that might be because Brazil has become sort of a southen american version of the US with a whole lot more corruption on the side and less morbid obesity, due to the interventionist policy of the US and the historical ass kissing our government xD still, the fact that most of the world speaks english might be a predominant factor in this issue. I mean, why learn another country's language when english is spoken worldwide, right?

This is wonderful!!!! Thank you SO SO much for this, Alexa! They tried to teach languages at school, it was worse than useless. Wordsearches twice a week isn't learning, funnily...When I got to France, they couldn't even understand my accent saying "baguette". I'm so ashamed I'm still uni-lingual, so I have started an early new years resolution to learn a new language. I'm only on day one but can already say the colours and numbers 1-100 okay(ish!) Small steps :)

I love this and I love the way you teach...I am hooked. My wife is learning French and I am learning German and French. I have spent a hours with different German lessons and Clips and started doing a duo lingo course in French...I have learnt more in the 9.5 minutes than I have in any lesson. I note this was 10 years ago...I hope you are still around and doing more clips...I want to catch up.

Same here, But I already learned far more than this basic videos by observing French speakers. I couldn't continue my French class for several surgeries. But I'm good in learning languages so quickly. I speak 7 languages and understand many more languages as well. Actually, I'm a linguistique. But still I want to go through all the videos for the exact accent like native speaker. Thank you both Alexa you and my device.

Opposite here - no normal human moves so much while speaking. It is something the TV moderators learn and use a lot - it drives me crazy ... there is no need to move like mad while explaining trivial things.
