I bought two from Big 5 Sporting Goods about 22 years ago. One chambered in the original 7.5 French and the other a 7.62 NATO . Both in like new condition. The cruciform Bayonet that stores in a tube under the barrel is trick. They seem crude compared to other surplus rifles in terms of polish and sight adjustment but are durable no nonsense shooters. All matching numbers and priced very affordable. All the Guns I have purchased have appreciated in value far in excess of any other investment. Any other investment becomes a ball and chain or a self imposed prison. Possession is equivalent to attracting the wrong kind of attention. You cannot move quick weighted down . You will only enrich those who strip You . Certificates and credentials will mean nothing , having value only as fire starter or asswipe. The Mas 49/56 auto loading rifle is another good one. Progressive Authoritarian Elites are doing all they can to discourage and eliminate the marketability of arms to the Masses while simultaneously doing the same to Hard cash and coin currency. The virtual reality will be that every thing You know will become artificial and replaced by it, even life itself. The Words of Victory at Sea ring True , “The Hour Is Late”. Just think what would have happened if Lafayettes National Guard were replaced with A.I. Robots.

I have a post war MAS-36 that is new. The parkerizing on the bolt and receiver makes that one tough rifle to cycle. I've only fired about 5 rounds through it. I've got another one that's had a bit more use so that's the one I take to the range. Also have a MAS-49/56 still in the wrapping. I'd love to give that a try but I hate to unwrap it. They're good rifles, nothing shabby about their design. I've love one of the ones made by the resistance during WW2 but they're spendy and often fake.
