@@markop.1994 Melodic metalcore is probably a great way too. Bullet for my Valentine, Trivium, As I Lay Dying, Unearth, Parkway Drive are all good gateway bands to heavier metal, plus Slipknot (esp first 2 albums) and Lamb of God were all bands that I started with before moving onto death metal and so on.

Gojira , beside being one of the best metal band of all time and playing at the olympics , is a real gate opener fo rnon metal listeneners , lost in vegas became great fans .

I walked into an old warehouse in Knoxville TN probably 15 years ago. A friend had some extra tickets to see Mastodon and I went with him after work, on short notice. I opened the doors and had the same look on my face as the dude on the right when these vocals kicked in. I stopped at the doors and said "Danny! Who tf is opening for Mastodon?".....It was Gojira. I've loved them since that night. Check out the video from their performance from the Olympics or the song "Born For One Thing" to hear what they sound like these days. They've somehow only improved over the years.

I had a similar experience going to a Mastodon show at a small venue about ten years ago only the opener was Corrosion of Conformity. I had been listening to them for 20 years at that point but never seen them live. I haven't seen Gojira live yet so I can't make that comparison but I've been to A LOT of metal shows and COC put out the most powerful sound I've ever witnessed in person. I knew they were gonna be the opener but I was not prepared for it.

around 13-14 years ago Metallica was in Belgrade and opening for them were Machinehead and this french band I never heard off. Blew my mind and been listening ever since.

Many years ago i was fortunate to see Gojira open for Slipknot in Chicago. That was a fun show. Volbeat played after Gojira. Great crowd. Nice people. Chatted with everyone around me. My girlfriend and I snuck in a flask of Crown Royale whiskey. I dont drink, but that night i drank a lot and sang and lost my voice. Great night. 🤘

Love this song seriously really good been into them since I was 11 - 12 so good Amazonia is fire as well, they write about protecting nature, and protection of aboriginal peoples. Super good band they did the opening Ceremony for Olympics this year, they are Frances equivalent to Metallica.

These guys have always had a bit of an animal rights vibe going on. Pretty sure this song and video are about what it feels like to be a pet that's left locked up all the time. I don't know how heavy y'all go, but if you want to see some wild shit, watch their live performances of Heaviest Matter of the Universe, Flying Whales, The Gift of Guilt or Where Dragons Dwell. They're a top-tier live band for sure. I actually got into them by checking out a live show on youtube probably about 12 years ago. I had a couple friends that kept trying to get me to listen to them so I figured I'd see what it was all about. I thought I'd just watch one song and probably not dig it, but I ended up sitting there watching the whole damn concert.

I think they are using a DigitTech whammy pedal to get the high pitch tones. The last time I heard that was from Rage Against the Machine as Tom Morello likes to use it quite a bit.
