I live in Los Angeles California and I am currently in French 5 at a junior college. I tutor the french 1 & 2 students with basic conjugations. French 5 is a lit class. We are reading L'Avare and then several short stories and excerpts from the 18th century.

Bonjour, thank your for your question. I am from India, currently living in the south of France (since 2015). I have studied french in school but that was decades ago. My biggest problem is that I can't understand spoken french. The speed and the liasons throw me completely, :( although I do manage to make myself understood for the most part. :)
@logiclanguagelearningFrench
@logiclanguagelearningFrench 6 жыл бұрын
Heena Rangwani , there is a vowel. vs. consonant balance issue which I can show you to help your listening. I also show you a trick to find the liaison without visualising the spelling. Try a class with me, I will charge you my off-peak rate whenever you choose to do it. At the risk of sounding conceited, it will radically alter how you HEAR French and if you don't think so you don't have to pay me haha. email me logiclanguagelearnin@gmail.com. Please do review the videos with your kind words on Facebook logiclanguagelearning too. Indian accent sounds prioritise consonants which means your ear will struggle unless shown otherwise.

Hello Luke, amazingly excellent, thanks. One question....probably a silly question, but why can't i say Je Dois parler avec.... why do we say Je deverai parler avec.... thanks
@logiclanguagelearningFrench
@logiclanguagelearningFrench 4 жыл бұрын
of course you can say je dois parler avec or je dois parler à, it means I have to, je devrais parler means I should speak ( or I would have to speak) thank you once again for your kind words. Where are you from and how long have you been learning?

Great video! I just have 1 question on it. Knowing French there are most likely exceptions to this. Can you name a few notable exceptions to this, or link me to a list of exceptions? Thanks!
@logiclanguagelearningFrench
@logiclanguagelearningFrench 7 жыл бұрын
ATeamBrown Thank you for your lovely comment. The exceptions that you need to be aware of cover the irregular 'blocks' in the future... that is to say some verbs in the will/would have their own form. I would be, is formed for ser.... not être for example. I would know, je saurais not savoirais. I mention these in the irregular blocks video which I will post to you in a moment. Equally, when you use 'would have' with a verb which uses être it is tricky. I would have eaten is j'aurais mangé, I would have gone je serais parti etc. Again these are dealt with in the subsequent videos. If you want a Skype class I offer discount to those who comment.

Actually, I really like your approach and this particular topic has always given my problems. I personally like a few more graphics - but I can create them from what you have said. Cheers. PS - the 'looking upwards camera' is a bit disconcerting and can't really see the whiteboard - but that's detail.
