I remember being so angry at American Idol for booting her off for a couple of nude photos! And then in later seasons, many girls did the same thing but it was "okay" because they were attractive. Sorry, that is just stupid. Frenchie would of killed season 2!

Someone, somewhere at the top didn’t want her on the show for whatever reason. Someone’s agenda sabotaged Frenchie. She’s still working and thriving but who knows where she would be if she had had the backing of the show, the label and that million dollar contract.

Gorgeous singer. I love her. I remember seeing her audition when this episode was first on, and thinking "this girl's going to WIN" And then watching the Hollywood episodes and being like "where the hell is she???" Stupid American Idol having to be so sickly sweet and family friendly

That's what I call the resounding belt- very rare gift. The only last individual to really possess that gift of this magnitude and anointing was Aretha Franklin. Whitney Houston had a trickle of this gift but Aretha had it in depth. Labelle had the belt but not the resounding due to her being soprano.

Okay, She has a BIG voice and a lot of potential. However, am I the only one that hears that she is off key at the beginning and on certain parts. She sounds better when she gets to the big belting notes because she is a belter, but as far as pitch and control....there have been much better singers on American Idol. It just goes to show that when you have confidence, and a strong, BIG voice , you can when people over. People are hearing the POWER and seeing the attitude and confidence.

When she gets her big break, like Jennifer got, fox will regret the decision they made on he behalf. Notice, I havent seen the judges give a standing ovation since she auditioned. Guess what....they never will, because this was the best audition ever on Idol.

Damn, now this is a good example of what TRUE music has to be. This days, Music is all about image, lets look at Justin Bieber for example, almost every girl in America loves him, But why? 90% of those "fangirls" love him just by his looks, the other 10% think he actually makes his own songs. However, lets not go away of the point, this woman right here showed me and many others that looks isn't only important. God bless this woman with great talent.

It was originally sung by Jennifer Holliday in the "Dreamgirls" broadway show...and re-done by Jennifer Hudson (yes, the one from American Idol) in the movie version that came out last year.
