Frenchie puppies found in hot car remain in care of Wake Co. Animal Center

Newborn French Bulldog puppies do need to be in controlled climate and 89 degrees is acceptable the first couple of weeks, however, they also need access to fresh air and be able to crawl away from the heat if needed. We provide our newborn French Bulldogs with the option of 89 degrees or less depending on how the puppy feels. We put the heat lamp on one side of their box, but they can crawl away from the heat lamp to cool down or can huddle underneath the heat lamp if they are cold. During the summer we haven’t had to use the heat lamp much and have them in a/c climate. I would never leave them in any car alone ever! Not at this age or any other age!

Puppies have been released to the woman's aunt. The judge handling this case (Boxberger) cares more about her ability to pay fines than facing the consequences of her actions. The dog's welfare is of no interest to him. We'll see how the felony count against her goes with a different judge.
