This is awesome! Its such a wonderful story and it really makes Judokas, in my opinion, want to come to Japan and train. Of course you know I already want to come. I really feel like your channel provides knowledge and companion ship for Judokas and I want to see this grow even lager. Thank you as always and look forward to more videos.

it is interesting that to get a shodan (1st dan) blackbelt, the test is full on randori. Contrast that with the 1st dan examination in my own country where students are only required to memorize and perform the nage no kata (often performed in a very poor/ substandard manner). This resulted in many individuals who are highly incompetent in judo being promoted as blackbelts. What a shame, I hope we would emphasize this format (3 rounds of non stop randori) more so that individuals who who earn the shodan are atleast competent in performing a throw against a fully resisting opponent.

It's also competitive in UK: you must win ten fights by ippon to acquire each Dan grade.

Congratulations Chadi! Thanks for the video. Is that a "normal exam" routine? In Sweden we little bit different depending on how you take it. As a instructor, or little bit easier If you gathered some points from tournaments, as a competitor. We go some with some random guy. So we are 4-5 pairs on the mat and the examers look at our judo. Then we need to execute the whole nage no kata. And after that the examers asks questions to us individually.. I am so disappointed to my core. I did the exame ones and failed with no obvious reason. The examers called us up me and my friend, to tell us that we have failed the exame. I asked why? (I want to learn and do better the next time..) When my FRIEND did the nage no kata he forgot one throw in the series.. Yes, that's his mistake but what did I do for error. - I asked again? When I did my left side uki otoshi my friend somehow did his fall on the right forward fall instead of left.. Yes, it is still my friend (uke) that did something forcefully wrongly.. But what did I do wrong that I could improve upon to the next time?! I have no idea yet until this day.. and I will never do any exame again! When I also saw the others nage no Kata, and they're not perfect either (it were not a Kata competition but we needed to do it OK anyway.) And I heard the questions that the examers said to the other ones and they struggle with wrong answers from the other pairs (and I had got info regarding what they liked to ask so I knew what they were fishing after, but the other brown belts failed miserable to answer.) I don't mean that I were perfect or were better than the others. Only that the others were also not perfectly executed. And if they were so much better than me then OK then I know that were why I failed. Yes, ONE thing that I did not do were trying to show off with fancy and high throws.. that were probably a bad idea. 😂 I remember that one guy got injured and tape his toes during the "randori". And I just were thinking "wow here is some dedication just for a stupid color change from brown to black".. 🤔 If you need to go all out and injury yourself than probably you are doing something wrong.. But it were probably my attitude that I don't care about belts.. One of the few things why I thought it might be a good idea were that children look up to a black belt little bit more, when I am acting as a instructor. If they can't judge a guy that been doing judo since 1977 without needing to see him go all out and injur himself then they can keep the black belt. I am very disappointed because when I repeatedly asked what were wrong they had nothing on me, and what I had done wrong. It felt that I got indirectly punished for that I did not gave 101% and what my uke did! 🤯

@AmazonasBiotop
@AmazonasBiotop 2 жыл бұрын
@@christerboysen2465 Tack Christer.
