G'day Tyler. Happy Fathers Day! Thanks for putting up these videos. Very inspirational. You're a family man (growing again soon) & we love to watch the interaction between you & Kai. The reason you are getting soo popular is because you are slowly becoming Blonde Roothy! Lots of 4wd Action readers (remember magazines) loved watching Roothy and the passion he had for the bush and for the adventure. You have mechanical sympathy. You care about what you do & don't "just send it" to be a HERO for video footage. Don't stop doing what you do legend! I'd love for my work & family life to be flexible enough to be able to travel like you do.

I think the word you're looking for is "Density" when describing water in diesel fuel. On another topic, I own an LC80 and I love it, but just ignore the people suggesting you should have bought a Land Cruiser or another brand instead of your Nav etc. IMO you've bought the "right" 4WD if it does what you want and meet and/or exceed your expectations - regardless of brand. Keep up the great adventures, and continue to share your hints and tips for each area you visit. It really helps people like me who are planning to tackle these areas for the first time when things open up again. Thanks 👍

Tyler this is the best Cape York video series I have watched. And I have watched quiet a few. You do a brilliant job of showing us the real Tele track. Not just the hero parts. I last travelled up there was back in 1989 in a stock standard little 1986 Holden Rodeo no winch or another extras, along with me was a 1986 Cruiser also no winch or big lift kit. WE did the entire Tele Track carrying all our fuel.(4x 60litre drums of Diesel in the back of the Rodeo). The cruiser had a 200L tank in the tray. Only place I bogged the Rodeo was exiting the northern side of Cockatoo crossing.(Very sandy climb back than). The chasis broke on the way home at Batavia Downs. Welded it up on the side of the road and made it back to Cairns. How things have changed. Congrates on your hard work Mate. Keep up the good work and travel safe.

My Nav coped with the cape just fine. Landcruisers don't noticably do much better. GQ's, on the other hand...
@AiDOS__2 жыл бұрын
@@AndyViant all 4wd's cope with the cape just fine. Landcruiser's definitely do cope best, not even a competition as they are built for the abuse. The price tag makes them a bit pointless unless you are using it for commercial stuff working and being abused and neglected for 30 years. But for good solid 4wd adventures without the toyota tax old gu & gq patrols and the new navs are pretty hard to beat.. looks pretty tough too
@AndyViant2 жыл бұрын
@@AiDOS__ Plenty of people would disagree over the Landcruiser versus Patrol thing. Everything I have seen over the years suggests that Landcruisers are easier to roll over, easier to break axles and swivel hubs in, break diffs and break transfer cases in, and their water pump failure rate is much higher. Overall, their engine reliability is better, but if you were to put say a TD42 against any Landcruiser motor, I'd take the TD42 every time. Funnily enough, the Army, for whom the Cape could easily become the front line of defence, don't use either. Defenders and Wranglers will both far exceed the stock capabilities of either LC or Patrol. So, to suggest that the LC has magic superpowers compared to other alternatives, suggests blind brand loyalty over rational testing. Especially without any data to back it up. What I will say is that LC's are more common up there, but that's probably just good marketing than anything else.

Diesel vs water? Water is heavier than Diesel so that's why the water trap is at the bottom of the filter/seperator. Gravity does the work (and some other stuff).

Cape York , Chemistry. 😆. I maybe wrong. But water is heavier than diesel, so it sinks to the bottom?
