Another great service job on a Great movement. Loved to see it worked on as I have the same watch (116233). How a mainspring breaks..I've been told 'metal fatigue' by my watchmaker who did a similar service on my DJ. It is what it is..!! Excellent work and commentary of your process and procedure. Always enjoy your vids.. Merci..

What should I have to pay for a service not by Rolex but a watch repairer like yourself. My watch is cosmetically nice. Clasp only has some light scratches which I would request to be left alone. My watch is a model 16233 datejust with a 3135 movement. The watch is running fine but looses about 2 or 3 seconds a day. Should I need cleaning now?
@FrenchWatchCollector3 ай бұрын
The cost should be around 400€ more or less. If you did not do a service for the last 10 years you should do it. It might cost more if not done early

Sacré chouette video, ca parait simple, diablement simple.... ce qui est la marque d'un sacré boulot ! (parceque c'est tout l'inverse lol) Et puis ca aidera certains a assumer leur French accent plutot que de risquer de rester incompris face a des anglais (c'est vecu)... et puis les anglophones kiffent notre "frenchie accent" ! bonne continuation !

Nice job, but still not clear what was wrong with the watch. A lot of repair channels use the phrase "broken". Was something actually broken, or was the watch just gummed up?
@FrenchWatchCollector Жыл бұрын
If you look at the video fully you will see that the mainspring is broken when I open the barrel assembly
@PpaStrmpf Жыл бұрын
Nicely done. I have two questions. First what is happening with your finger cots they seem to have holes in each video😂 and I know that you do not use the same one😂. Second question is l, how in the hell can you brake main spring on the automatic caliber? Once is for sure, this Rolex seem to be well preserved and clean. I know you(and lucky me😅) get sometime watches that were never in contact with water, but were worn day and night.

For the figer cots I bought a big bag on cousin and the quality is so bad. Probably a Chinese or Indian production. They are so bad but I need to finish them. Not sure how it got broken but it is strange

Thank you very much for this: as always very well filmed and enjoyable to watch. Yet, another Rolex, but at least the company puts in some extra work when it comes to finishing their movements. What I would love to see is you servicing a modern-day IWC or Panerai and use all the filthy swear words that come to your mind when describing "their" so called "in-house" movements which have been "micro-blasted" as a "special" feature. Pure evil they are, and extremely expensive. Please learn how to pronounce "Submariner" correctly: you should say "submarine" and add an r. So the stress is not on "sub" but on "marine". I also learnt this just a couple of days ago ...

I will see if I can find one. I want to work on a vintage IWC but difficult to find a one that need some care

@@FrenchWatchCollector Vintage ones are mostly OK, but the modern ones are really bad: 😩👎🤮!
@wage6681 Жыл бұрын
Not to be all 🤓, but the correct pronunciation of submariner is sub "MARE" inner. Or sub "mär" inner depending on where you're from. Reason being is that you wouldn't pronounce mariner like mareener, at least it's not technically correct. Here's some evidence I was able to find for you. "For years I pronounced it as submareen-ER, because that's how the sales rep at Ostranders pronounced it. It wasn't until about 1992 that I heard it pronounced sub-MARE-iner by a Rolex Canada technician, when I realized I was wrong". Hope this is helpful. I'm sure there's some more anecdotal evidence lying around online.
