Do you personally know the watch restorer who made this video?
This shows you why Rolexes and other high end watches are *so* expensive. The externals might be utterly destroyed by those internals are basically *bulletproof* Though I think it needs a smidge more adjustment to get it down to +/- 3 seconds a month to meet the Chronometer certification.

Thank you for your comment. This time, I'm glad that there was almost no damage to the movement. It is a national trait of the Japanese people, but they tend to dislike negative rates. So I'll keep it at about +10 seconds.

@@watchrestorationanytimewearHuh, well that explains the Grand Seiko's proclivity to running a bit faster. Thanks! Also excellent job repairing the watch. It's a beauty.
I love that you didn’t polish it. That patina tells the watch’s story. 👌🏼

I also think it's better not to polish it in order to preserve the overall atmosphere.

Really good job, but in my opinion spoilt by the fact it wasn’t restored to original with a fuschia bezel insert, and the luminous that was put in the hands doesn’t match the rest of the dial.
@crbswiss Жыл бұрын
good looking watch! im happy to see you didnt over restore the case and bracelet. i do wish, however, that you would have left the hands in the original condition asside from repairing the gmt hand lume. I would also try to find a faded bezel insert to match the rest of the watch's patina. all in all though, great work and nice video!

Awesome job. You probably know what you are doing, so don't take offense, but me personally I would definitely check if the old lume on the hands and dial is radioactive on such vintage pieces. If it is radium or tritium it could be really dangerous what you did, removing the old lume like that. Turned out super nice tho. Stay safe

Thank you for your advice. There is also information that the effect is smaller than the X-ray photograph. I would like to measure it if there is an opportunity.

Obrigado por assistir e comentar. Tive a sorte de que a máquina não tenha sido danificada.
Nice job! Which tool did you use to crimp the canon pinion? Bergeon tweezers, which number? Where did you get your new parts from? Glass, gaskets, bezel inner, etc? Thanks.
@watchrestorationanytimewear Жыл бұрын
thank you. I thought that the rotating bezel was also worn out, but it was good that the ring was also left. BERGEON4733 is used for caulking of Canon Pinion. After that, I use generic parts.
Need to match the color of the new Lume to the oxidized Lume on the dial hour markers. A very small spot of coffee added to the new Lume will help to match perfectly.

Just destroyed half of the value of that vintage rolex
That watch was likely worn daily for decades until it stopped working 😮 1st time I see a Rolex in that condition. If you got it for FREE you are very very lucky.

Thank you for your comment. This Rolex is a client's watch. I guess I was lucky because the repair cost was about 40,000 yen.
