Hey everyone; Don't get me wrong, video games can be fun. but like anything else, they become destructive for people who take it to extremes. Like the patient who had rampant decay due to poor dental hygiene and excessive drinking of mountain doo. He considered his decay a badge of honor because it showed his dedication to video gaming as he proudly proclaimed, "I'm a gamer!" Don't feel offended if you play video games. I'm not denigrating your character. But if you're one of those people who Really thinks that you're ready for the apocalypse because you played call of halo zombie duty, then perhaps you should reevaluate your training. Also, I misspoke about Nintendo 64. It was a different game system.

@@clownworld4655 Rarely a stumble from Paul and he speaks in one continuous take. Those lesser channels consist of 5,000 cuts/edits all stitched together to make a whole presentation. Paul, no matter how obvious the subject matter may appear, I really appreciate your analytical approach to every situation. My personal favorites were you "engaging a soda bottle with and without a .22," Shooting from your bed out on the range, going to such a great length on recording .22 reliability, and demonstrating different situations with keeping a round chambered vs unchambered. You always put everything to the test and never act conceited when speaking to us. Your firearms knowledge experience and training is one thing that I like, but a huge thing that keeps me coming back to you is your personality. You hold my attention with your "this is the boring part where I talk" far more then any other gun youtuber. In my opinion, you've hard earned every subscriber and deserve more. I really do hope your situation gets better, because you're a great guy and its been a whole lotta fun listening to you. And even though you've had different experience education and training, youre my favorite source of information hands down. I'm happy for you!

I have learned a tremendous amount from Paul and his website. I am an educated person but no firearms expert, and I currently live in a very anti-gun state in the Northeast, where it is very difficult to even practice shooting skills and retaining memberships to gun ranges. I have had direct questions that I have pondered for long periods of time in many of Pauls quality productions answered. He should be congratulated for taking so much of his own personal time to produce so much great information in the often conflicting arena of firearm usuage. Thanks Paul!

As a New Yorker, I completely agree. People who live in more free states don’t have a clue how restrictive it is here, or why we stay here. Long story short, it’s really, REALLY beautiful here, we usually have family who are counting on us, and a career/home we can’t easily part with. I make $34 per hour breaking concrete, and in Florida or Texas that would be $12. I love both states, but I can’t provide for my family that way, we still own guns, they’re just a challenge to train with.

"I don't need any help in that category"- that is pure Paul gold there. Yes there are a wide variety of firearm types and operations, humans seem to be very good at making things complicated. For a good game I think a person could lay out a good variety of semi autos, get a stopwatch, then time each contestant trying to find the operating handle of each one. Or lay out a variety of autoloading handguns and have the person determine which ones have manual safeties and which ones do not. I notice that you are very tough on plastic tables. I've watched a high percentage of your videos and I don't recall feeling there was anything significant that needed correcting.

Favorite channel for firearm knowledge hands down. I have a slew of military figures in my family, but I have learned more from your clear and concise educational content, than I did from my family members (They taught me a lot, but you have an excellent way of presenting information) Thank you from the bottom of my heart for trying to educate the masses on firearms and technique.

I have never done much shotgunning. Owned a couple that I inherited but they are usually just stacked in the safe. i learned for the first time that there is something that is 32 guage! Never seen one that I can recall. Never seen that size ammo for sale either. I do have one old double 16 guage that I like but for the last twenty or so years it is getting harder and harder to find ammo for it. My best nephew has a "sweet sixteen" that I also love to shoot. The bird hunting is not so good in the swamps around here. I agree with your opinion on the judge as being good for very little beyond mangling overprocessed food. Good job, guys.

By the way, do you use the snap cap technique to drop the hammer on pump guns also? I have probably been abusing my old shotguns for decades by just snapping on an empty chamber before I put them up.

I think it might also be worth showing how many variants there can be within a single firearm model. 10/22 for example can be had or modified into a huge variety of appearance and capabilities I believe.

I'm a Mauser Model 1898 guy. I LOVE those things. I have a 1917 DWM G98, owned several Kar98k's including 1942's, 1943's, and a 1944 from the byf, dou, ce, and byf factories respectively. Another Mauser 1898 I have is a Geha shotgun in 12ga, which was configured interwar after the Treaty of Versailles. It takes 2.5inch shells which I'm sure you know, they don't make terribly many of anymore. A big quirk of the Geha shotgun I had to discover the hard way was they chopped the bolt and added a new, removable face that fits into the extractor claw; this must be removed by force if you want to disassemble the bolt. It's an interesting piece of Mauser history that I can't bring myself to shoot. Not because it's sentimental or anything, I'm afraid it'll explode if I do; the barrel is thin and the chamber probably can't be reshaped to take 2.75inch shells. My point is that it's a whole lot easier to learn about your favorite guns if you use them like a shooter would.

To everyone who's been part of producing these videos (including Paul, of course!), Thank You. You may not hear it nearly often enough, but you *are* appreciated. On the "video games aren't realistic" bit, I had to laugh. In the classic game Doom, you can carry your handgun, a chainsaw, a shotgun, a chaingun, a rocket launcher, and a couple of "energy weapons", plus plenty of ammo for these (including 100 rockets!), while wearing full armor, and even after being shot so many times you're near death, you can run and jump full speed. Yeah, I don't play video games to be realistic. I used to play a driving game, and found that, especially if I'd been using the steering wheel and pedals accessories for it, I had to be extra careful about actual driving too soon after playing. It was never a problem, but I could see where it *could* be. All that said, I was surprised at just how realistic the Microsoft Flight Simulator was, at least for single-engine light craft.

I loved playing DOOM II in the mid 90s+ and my reverence for double barrel shotguns has a foundation in that game. Like, c'mon an "old Fudd shotgun" in a futuristic game that has the famed BFG 9000 and the Plasma Rifle? Doesn't make sense, but it still has its place for special applications and it's just old-school-cool.
@BruceS42
@BruceS42 11 ай бұрын
@@Hjerte_Verke And what about the chainsaw, with its infinite fuel supply? That's one of my go-to weapons in Doom, but it makes even less sense than the shotgun. Enemies like the floating eyeball of death (cacodemon or something like that) you can just run up to with the chainsaw and they rarely fight back at that point. I kept my paid version of Doom files, and currently play them through the Vavoom engine on my Linux desktop. For a while, I was playing most of my old DOS games on DOSBox, but something happened in "upgrades" to make that less functional. At one job, in the '90s, a group of us would play Doom, Descent, and maybe another game or two after work, networked. Great times.

For those confused about the chronograph appearing farther away than he says, it is apparent to me that the camera they use has a "fish eye" effect where the viewing angle is artificially widened at the cost of things not in the center being slightly distorted. Thus your sense of distance is compromised. Many outdoor or "action" cameras like GoPro brand do this by default. Compared to other kinds of camera they have the advantage of being small, light, and durable. The downside is usually fewer options to account for varied lighting conditions and other factors, thus making it more difficult to have a "true to life" or otherwise pretty video.
