Looks great! I made your fresh milled flour loaf yesterday along with my second pan of buttery yeast rolls since Saturday. My husband and his mother love them. I send his mom and dad meals every week and she request the rolls

I'm sure you're getting your husband to eat that fresh milled flour heart healthy loaf! Amazing wife to make that wholesome food for him, and even better that you make and send food home for his parents. That's the kind of service that I love. I'm honored that your mother in law requests the buttery yeast rolls! Those are some of my favorites, too.

@ the whole grain bread makes great peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I make the ham sliders or Philly cheese sliders with the rolls the next day. I love all your bread recipes!

Yes, I agree, my favorite peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are on whole grain bread, it's so wholesome and delicious. I just made Philly cheese sliders out of the the buttery rolls since you do that, and they turned out SO GOOD!! I usually make ham and cheese, these were even better! Thanks for telling me about that!

I haven’t ground wheat in years, probably 25 years ago. That wheat looked so fresh! I have some old cans I should check one, but definitely need an electric grinder. I’ll always have my hand cranked one, but difficult for me now. “Autolysing?” That is a new term to me! Thank you for showing what that process means. Looked lovely! The only thing missing from this video was you! ❣️ But very instructive and some day soon would like to mill my own flour again. Still need to inventory our storage, and definitely order more wheat. I’m trying to learn the differences between them. I don’t think when I bought wheat before I thought about that. Just ordered different kinds because that’s what everyone was doing. Thank you so much, I’m learning from the other commenters also. Happy bread making! 🥰🇺🇸

That's wonderful you have stored and ground wheat, most people don't know much about that, and since you've done it, even though it's been awhile, I'm sure you could easily do it again--it's a life skill! I'm sure your old cans of wheat are still perfectly fine. If you ever do it again, be sure to try autolyzing you dough---it's an absolute game changer for my whole wheat freshed milled flour breads. I spent too many years eatting too dense whole wheat bread! This makes it so much more enjoyable, at least to me. I do need to branch out and try some different grains, but I have 1000s of lbs of wheat stored, and I need to get through a bunch, then try some new things! I feel like back when I was beginning with food storage, wheat was what was available (before everything was available on the internet), and I didn't ever hear about millet, kamut, etc. One day I will try them because I love things like that! Thank you for all of your support sweet Cynthia!!

I can’t wait to get my grain mill so I can make this bread!😋 I was watching a KZbin grain channel and she said that you need a Bosch or NutriMill mixer, you couldn’t just use a KitchenAid to mix freshly milled flour. Well you just proved her wrong and I am so happy that I don’t need to buy another appliance😃

Robin, you will love this healthy bread! Autolyzing the fresh milled flour makes all the difference in getting soft and fluffy whole grain bread. I do recommend using the Bosch mixer or the Zojirushi bread machines because they have strong motors that can handle the fresh milled flours better. I wore out several KitchenAids in my early years before I got my Bosch! Make this in your new bread machine!!

@ I just asked the same question in an email before I saw your answer here.😄 Did you see in the news that there was a big recall on bread in Canada last month because of metal shards? I’m sure that will come to America soon. Good time to be making your own bread!

NO! I DIDN'T SEE THAT! Yikes! Yes, even more reason to make our own! That's a new reason I had never thought of, haha!

Hi Robyn, this recipe sounds interesting. My oldest daughter is very crazy with any kind of bread and cookies that has maple syrup. Can I replace the millet with the bread flour? Also do you have pumpkin bread recipe using the pumpkin purée?

I'm with your daughter, I love all things maple, too! I have not used millet, I have 1000s of lbs of wheat stored, so I'd like to branch out and try some different grains, but for now, I've got to get through some of this wheat! But, I'd guess that you can substitute millet for the hard wheat. I did look it up, and it said millet absorbs more moisture, so you'd possibly need to add a bit more water to recipes made with millet. I'd start with very little extra and add more based on what it looks like. It also said it makes slightly denser and more crumbly baked good than wheat flour, so I'd think that it would benefit from autolyzing like I do in this video. Like I said though, that's honestly just a guess. If you have the millet, I'd say give it a try as an experiment! Here is my pumpkin bread recipe using the pumpkin puree: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fXiWqXSXh6-HgLc Thanks so much for always watching and supporting me and my channel, Liz. You're wonderful.

Now when I pass by my favorate what a burger I pass by saying poison and go home and make my own. Much better and healthier. Wish they would come out with a pullman pan in cast iron or Zojarushi should come out with a top for the pan that slides on and off.

Yes, and you can make it cheaper at home too! These are crazy times! A cast iron pullman pan would be amazing, or the Zo with a top for the pan would be incredible! Great idea. You should pitch that to them :)
