I'm glad to see the Magic Band technology being used again! That tracker to bring your food to wherever you're sitting is something I first saw at Be Our Guest at Magic Kingdom, a sprinkle of Disney magic! Slightly given away by them telling you to take your magic band off and place it in the centre of the table....

You are absolutely paying for the vibe. Personally I’d never spend $18 on a chicken sandwich with no sides, but I’d pay for the drinks and the vibe for a special evening out for sure.

I went last nite - we got the beef bowel, pork belly bowl from Seoul sister and some Brussel sprouts - expensive but absolutely excellent… if u have food restrictions this place comes already to go! I would highly recommend - the setting is fantastic and the views from upstairs is excellent! A fine addition!

@16:25 David you didn't even touch bases on Vista's Mountain Climb for $70. I don't drink Bourbon, but $70 for what looks to be a 3oz flight seems quite expensive! Must be some pretty good stuff, lol! The Parkside Market area does look very nice though.

Disney World guests have also experienced similar sticker shock recently with the menu offerings at the recently opened Cake Bake Shop - outrageous prices on property but outside the park (Epcot).

I agree the price is eyewateringly high. It's perhaps more apt to compare GG's Parkside to GG's elsewhere. A chicken sandwich at GG's in Chicago is $13.50, and, adjusting for cost of living differences, about $14.31. So there's a $3.69 park premium (+25%). And rent in The Loop in Chicago is probably just as bad as Disney.

I'm looking at the vista Bar menu and the drinks are $18 and $20, pretty common these days. It sucks that we are getting used to these prices. But what blows me away here is the zero proof cocktails are 12.00 each

The Tavern at Earl’s is actually very reasonably priced. Their Prime Rib is $38 - I have had it a couple times and I was very impressed, and I would say a good $10-$20 less than getting a large serving of prime rib at some steak house. The cocktails at Parkside are expensive but in-line with what you would pay at any DTD or hotel place.

Because they have the table trackers they can very easily use robots to deliver the food. And yes certain robot models can independently use the elevator.

It is when you consider even in the parks all the burgers and chicken sandwiches come with fries for about $14 each. But at most fast-food places unless you get a combo you do not get fries. I may try it, but really for half the price I’d rather go to Chick-Fil-A !

Black Tap and Ballast Point are in the $22-$24 range and it includes fries. The presentation is also terrible at Parkside in the fast food wrapper. They can’t put it in a basket?

Hmm. I'm up in the Bay Area and spend in the low 20s at Five Guys (maybe a better comparison than Carl's Jr), but that is with fries and a drink. This would be closer to $30. I could see $25, but $30 sounds too high to me.

Unfortunately not a surprise on the food prices. Chicken is the 1 I think is the most outrageous. Sandwich without a side that with tax is over $20 is too much. Across the board food service in California is astronomical. I think if the sandwich price went down about $3 it would be more in line to expectation. I feel bad for families wanting to ho to Disneyland.

I have been telling my sister that 'hella' has migrated from norcal, but she doesn't believe me. Also, fries have become one of the worst price gouge food items. It's just fried potatoes. If they arent included as part of a meal, i would rather order a double sandwich, additional chicken strips (6 instead of 4), or whatever at a much better value than a single sandwich and fries.

When you look at the original GG's Chicken Shop the prices for the chicken sandwich is $13.50. The additional $4.50 is the difference for being is Downtown Disney. However, they are known for the quality of the food where I find the food in the Parks too bad fast food quality. I will gladly pay more for the quality.
