In Buddhism, there are many heavens, but Trayatrimsa is the highest one that is still connected to the physical world. The Buddha's mother went to this Heaven after she died, and he visited there to teach her how to attain Nirvana (which in our religion is better than even the highest heavens). The bodhisattva Ksitigarbha also lived in this heaven as a deva before being born a human to attain enlightenment & making his vows to help all the lost beings

Very interesting...in Eastern Orthodox (the oldest official form of Christianity we have record of) architecture, large domes (like Hagia Sophia) were meant to symbolize "heaven touching down to earth." The cupolas or onion domes typically seen also have odd-numbered significance ~ 1 for Christ, 3 for the Trinity, 5 for Christ + the 4 gospels, 7 for the Ecumenical Councils, 9 for the choirs of angels & 13 for Christ + the Apostles. Since all the dates, histories & functions of these buildings are now in question, it is interesting to see both the similarities in antiquitech across different styles & locations, but also the similar narratives they are given.

But basically, yes, the belief was that Mount Meru (or the face of it which was always facing us) was made out of Lapis Lazuli. It “blended” with the skies, and the notion or common belief was Lapis Lazuli was actually small bits of the sky. It’s really fascinating stuff.

A very interesting topic which goes into vast teachings on cosmology. In Tibet Mt. Meru is considered to be Mount Kailash, which is circumnambulated in pilgrimage. Lots more to be explored in this topic!

Reminds me of the six directions of native tribes. Yellow (gold), red(ruby), black or blue (lapis) and white (crystal) with often green and brown for earth and blue for water. I believe that's the colors. We used to do prayer bundles with tobacco, especially at the Bear clan property of our Uncle Ty.

The 33 number is because we believe there are 33 gods of highest order and many thousand demigods. The Thirty-three gods or Tridasha (Sanskrit त्रिदश tridaśa "three times ten") is a pantheon of Hindu deities, of Vedic origin and some developed later. That number 33 is everywhere these days. Most of the shite happening in the world has the "33" signature.. and the masons probably has "33" tattoo'd on their butts! Mount Meru is inverted/. The bottom point touches the earth the bottom point is flat upon which is situated an abode of Lord Brahma who created the universe using directions from Vishnu the Supreme lord.
