Highly unlikely it was any kind of cheating, it's pretty easy to do when you know the mechanics. Almost any decent PvP player is able to do it. Stopping shooting when he died is because they heard the body drop, if they were cheating so they could see through the wall he'd have been killed on the first shot not the 5th+. It's all skill

Suggestion: H wall trap that will yeet them off cliff. Set up on high spot 2x1 base with same fake foundations. Safe wall inside (facing cliff) is offset towards you . Then a sweeper wall. Either garage door or swing gate. Then reg inside wall. Activate outside garage door to expose cliff. Then, inside the garage door to yeet em up and out. Or garage doors to sweep and push them out. The panic should be high as they get pushed to their doom. [Slight offset wall to reach open shut] [garage or swing gate inner wall] [outer cover wall] Inner gate should swing through space enough to displace victim. The trap corridor is probably wide enough for this. Room beyond with loot visible through barred window is perfect temptation. The outside wall of the corridor should be triggerable from underneath, too... Close door to corridor trapping them in yeet room. Open wall showing big deadly fall. Open garage door yeeting them or swinggate to push em out. Cue Wilhelm scream . Collect loot. Repeat. For bonuses, have barbed or concertina wire on edges so they can't try to jump on roof or avoid push via edging. Rest of base is normal. Excepting the loot room with barred window so they can see in . 4 door op though... trap door, bait door , doom and yeet doors.

Even better if they open yeet door to corridor thinking it's unlocked. That moves between walls and access to corridor granted. They go in, you close real hidden door to corridor, open outer wall, and then taunt or yeet.
