finally a serious tutorial not tilted as "memorize fretboard 30 seconds", they give useless triangles or patterns stuff. this video is the most proper and correct way to do it i swear to god i tried and im almost there. Thank u !

first time ive played the guitar was like over 10 years ago, i quit like couple of weeks playing. and i still hate myself for it. now i bought a new guitar to learn it, and its the first video ive seen where i just think to myself, that makes sense now xD have to watch more of your videos!

If you're brand new to guitar id recommend going through the beginner course i have on YT as well as learning some of the riffs to get your fingers working. I'll be getting more riffs and songs up soon too!

This wont to much on the technical side for fingerstyle but will help a lot for finding chords, root notes of the chords, improvisation, lead guitar, and general guitar confidence as it will get you more familiar with whats going on under your fingers.

If you find it too difficult, 1. watch the other beginner training i have on the fretboard, 2. Take it slow. 3. If you're just beginning - go through my beginner course / learn songs, riffs etc. This is not a beginner lesson.

The 5 12 7 for A is utter cobblers. Learn and understand chords ie R 3rd 5th and understand how a G chord is made up. GBD. Learn CAGED ie those 5 root chords and understand how you move the shapes of these chords. So a C shaped G would have the C shape moved up to the 10 fret on the A string. The A shape for G would be at the 10 fret on the A string also but the shape is different. So far all your using is GBD in three different shapes. The E shape is moved up three frets on the open E string so the 3rd fret or G is the root and the D shape is moved up 5 frets so its root would be the G note at the 5th fret on the D string. In all cases except for the roots CAGED chords the nut at 0 must be covered. E.g. G with C shape starts on A string at 10th fret, D sting at 9th fret, The G string is barred with your index finger across the 7th fret. The B string at the 8th fret and the barred fingers covering the 7th fret on the high E string. Everyone of these chord shapes, at these positions, is using GBD - The notes which form the G major chord. Root G - the 3rd B and the 5th - D. GaBcD.
