Thank you very much! you are the first guitar teacher that show how to build pick ups, short, long, 1 bar, 2 bar... phrases vocabulary to keep in time and don't get lost in the chord progression to make the changes, I am very grateful David!

In the world of youtube guitar lessons, this series is a gem in a sea full of garbage. Thank you so much for this information - teaching advanced techniques in a simple/understandable way is an art in itself. This series deserves waaaaaaay more views

Hi David, I'm a long time player from down in Australia. This series of videos has opened up a window I didn't know was there. The idea of firmly sticking to a place for a certain kind of lick, and then practising that has transformed my playing over about a month. Thanks!!!!!!

lots of tutor's out there that are fantastic player's but fail to get the point across in a manner that we can relate to. Thank god we have David ... great player and one of the best teacher's out there.Period.

Wonderful to watch your videos again. I have a new phone that has been a challenge to undertake. Thank you for sharing your extensive knowledge. You & Daddy Stovepipe are the go to teacher's for understanding finger style guitar. You fellows truly keep the knowledge alive as you guard guide & protect it's preservation. Vince James (Ajello)

This is great. Loved the section on where to use these lines.

Great stuff, David. "You don't want it to sound like a typewriter" may be the best description for overplaying I've ever heard. There are far too many typists in the guitar community. I've never really understood how to incorporate anything beyond the occasional major pentatonic lick into my (very meager) blues playing. This "swing scale" opens up the sounds I've always been seeking and never understood where they were coming from. There's such a cool elegance to these lines. Thanks - much appreciation, and please keep up the great work.

I don't understand what you're doing. And I watched the previous video.

It's not a video for beginners. You should probably come back to it when you're a little bit more advanced.

I've checked several of your videos, they are very interesting, you have also great skills! But I think you talk way too much!

Thanks for taking the time to comment, and I'm glad you find the lessons interesting! It's tricky to get the balance of words and notes right, and to get the concepts across in the most efficient way possible. Lucky for you, if it gets to verbose, you can always just click "pause" :-).

I enjoy the talk, history, context, etc. Don't change a thing!
