I thoroughly enjoyed your presentation, Aimee. What a wonderful opportunity to have a glass of wine and sit back and be mesmerized by your knowledge and expertise on the life of John Constable. For a moment in time, you've taken my mind away from worrying about car insurance, a mortgage and buying groceries. Cheers! Darryl

This series is an utter delight. Grateful thanks to whoever thought of it. And a great reminder of how I value and respect the many civilised, charming and erudite Americans who are not so much in the news these days. Cheers and bottoms up! from London. Can't wait until our own great galleries re-open.

You were absolutely fantastic! wonderful insights and delightful story telling. So many times I get the feeling from watching the news and social media that many Americans believe that this is the first time a government has taken action in response to a disease. It is so interesting that so many of the subjects of these pieces and the artists who created them, were influenced by a pandemic, immigration, unemployment, war etc. Such a good reminder that this is not a new experience for humans, it is just a new experience for most of us living in the United States. so far all of the cocktails are too strong for me, but so enjoying all the selections and recipes. From Monterey California, Thank you so much!

That was a most enjoyable talk. Gin and Dubonnet was the Queen Mother’s favourite too. Every Paris Metro station used to have posters as the trains went in, saying Dubo... Dubon.... Dubonnet.

Thank you for one of my favorite landscape artists, and one of my favorites at the Frick. When I visited Salisbury Cathedral decades ago, I had pictured myself walking into Constable's painting. And for your quote, "There's a power in celebrating lost times, lost places, lost people. It helps us to cope with the present, and hope for the future." My drink was a Duck Walk Vineyards Blackberry dessert wine.

Wonderful! I have been enamored of Constable since my first visit to the National Gallery, London, in 1964. How he paints clouds: an exact representation of a particular time of day in England - and of the impending weather (note those gray clouds at right). Ms Ng provides biographical and economic back stories that are crucial in appreciating this painting - all without actually discussing how the paint got applied onto this particular canvas. How exhilarating it would be to see all the six-footers - and their sketches in oils and pencil - in one overwhelming exhibit (a virtual exhibit is fine by me). Meanwhile, please revisit this painting with us, there must be a lot more to say! Thank you!

Congratulations, Aimee. Your presentation brought Constable's painting to the forefront of Frick's painting collections, by highlighting the intricate details of "The White Horse" for a much better appreciation by us, the viewers. Your Gin and Dubonnet Rouge cocktail recommendation hits the theme of an English and French connection. Well done!

Thank you, Miss Ng. I learned much and listened intently to valuable words of insight. most informative, as are those talks w/ your colleagues. this is a truly wonderful presentation. if one would care to experience a spectacular journey back through years and years to a world that is entirely vanished, may I recommend here to everyone, a tome that many already know yet others may never have seen or heard of: The Book of Days - A Miscellany of Popular Antiquities In Connection With the Calendar, Including Anecdote, Biography & History, Curiosities of Literature, and Oddities of Human Life and Character. In 2 Volumes. By Robert 1802-1871 Chambers. Make certain of the author and Publication date. A reprint and on Google. Everything one may care to or wish s/he had not ever known. It is really stunningly beautiful in numerous places and divulges much concerning old times/people.

I watched it, but I am sorry to say that I learned nothing about the painting except its history. Surely, there was something to say about its aesthetics. Why does it deserve to be called beautiful? But perhaps art historians are interested only in its history and its historical context.
