Your comment about saving old handles made me laugh- because so do I, lol. Had an 8# maul (cheapie from TSC), and the handle decided to fracture inside the head- causing it to fly off- when it was in mid swing above my head. Had a second where I presumed I was about to brain myself, until it came crashing down inside my wood shed 10' or so away. The handle still sits in there, waiting for a project tailor made for it. The head is now a backup splitting wedge- in case I get one stuck. Man, I was wishing I had your skidloader mounted splitter, today. Ran into a beautiful strait, 16+" dia hard maple log today, just sitting there atop a pile of old silver maple. Bark peeling off in sheets, both ends rock solid, etc. I don't need more green wood, was just looking for a new chopping block, and some locust chunks to weigh down some tarps- but this beauty was way too tempting to ignore! 4 BIG rounds, and 2 end cuts later, and I had to get these monsters into the bed of my 4x4... The log ox wouldn't grip the smooth, barkless wood- so I ended up quartering them with my axe. Norway Maple, so relatively easy splitting, but those things were heavy! Your "work smarter not harder" tool would have hit the spot. But hey- there's no such thing as too much hard maple firewood! Esp, if it's for a grill. The silver maple butt end I chose for a chopping block was just as big, but felt like it weighed nothing, compared to those. That thing has knots all through it, the pith is off to one side, and it's a stump, so likely curly grained and stringy as hell. Should stand up to the abuse fine! AND I actually cut strait for once, lol.

Hi John. I totally agree politically. My family didn't bother to vote. Well. Great log splitting video. I usually chainsaw the real knotty logs. Because. Now that "erection" day is over it is nice to watch your video without being constantly interrupted by ads. I hope you got paid more from KZbin for your videos during the campaign because I'm sure KZbin cleaned up with their abundance of political commercials played during that time.....I enjoy your videos.....keep it up..

😊😊 HI JOHN those big peaces ✌️ 😊 of wood 🪵 😊 U spilt in half and leave them 4 night 🌙 😊 sticks 4 the woodstove the wood will hold the stove over night and in the morning U shake the ashes down and take them up and put them in a bucket 🪣 😊 of water 💧 😊 U should still plenty of good coals in the stove add more 👍 😊add more on the cool and chilly days the warm dry good wood heat will feel some kind great and it will be good 4 your back I know 2 day after it warmed up the great warm sunshine 🌞 😊 felt great 👍 😊 2 my back indeed yes it did john that's nature's heating pad now this time of year 😊😊 OMG 11 5 2O24
