Toes are temperature gauges because you dip them first in a pool or in a tub to assess how cold or hot the water is.

That was the hardest Friday I ever solved. Clicks YT, "Approachable".

LOL! I tried to solve this last night when I was falling asleep after a long day. I dozed off for a couple hours. When I awoke I remembered I hadn't solved the Friday, having completely forgotten I'd filled in most of the grid, but with very many sloppy mistakes, so I cleared it and started it again, and found it much easier now that I was wide awake. This experience felt very strange.

Always helpful to hear your descriptions, especially today for 33A: AMEND/EMEND! I has the wrong answer (AMEND) here and was scratching my head for ages!

The Jetsons theme doesn't *quite* start with "Meet the Jetsons", instead opening with "Meet George Jetson" and going on to list the other family members ("his boy Elroy" etc).

For the longest time I kept thinking The Brady Bunch doesn't fit.

I still don't get that 44D is a mix of English and Spanish but the answer is in Spanish. Not sure why it is not only in Spanish?

This is common; I imagine it’s because the point of the clue isn’t to be a reading comprehension test in the given language but rather an indicator of the usage of that language

@@ChrisRemo Thanks - Granted I could infer what the Spanish meant, I only got it through the acrosses.

I really disliked the “openender” 🫠 Felt like such a reach.
