Tinashe's premise of 9 Billion target in 2023 and 6.5 Billion Target in 2024 is immaterial. The change is simply because the parallel market exchange rate premium was higher in 2023 than in 2024. (For now). It may close to the end of the year. The 4 Billion collection Target is feasible, with a deficit of up to 15%. That 15% will be closed down to 1.5% through inflation, TBs and creative accounting.

Treasury bills don’t work in the Zim system. It’s a looting mechanism in our system that usually sees depositors losing their hard earned forex. It’s happened many times already.

Revenues in Q3 & Q4 are always higher due to Tobacco & Wheat sales along with firming commodity prices particularly in Gold, PGM’s, Lithium and Steel products coming on stream so Treasury will likely surpass 6 Billion.
