​​@@scytaleloloIt is an saying from old (1940's-1950's) western movies where, typically, an elderly man would be shown happily headed toward the area reported to have gold. The old man would invaribly amble off, with the inevitable mule as a companion/packhorse, happily saying, "There's gold in them thar hills." with the "thar" being a slang/colloquial version of the word "there", and can be still be heard in the Southern USA where the Southern drawl is blamed for it.
