Friday full highlights | Festival of Speed 2024

Friday at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed was where high-speed action really kicked off. Joining the supercars and F1 stars that we had seen on Thursday were the cars of the Timed Shootout, ready for their first practice session of the weekend, and all the rest of our incredible weekend runners celebrating our theme Horseless to Hybrid - Revolutions in Power.
We've brought together everything you need to see from Friday at FOS 2024 from the Hillclimb, Future Lab, Rally Stage and the Goodwood Action Sports arena in our highlights video. @@eoinkenny3188 There is nearly 500 lbs difference between them. The F1 needs a fan to match the crazy downforce of the McMurty. With that I believe they would beat them all day. Afterall, an F1 set the record in 1999!!! It was only 2 seconds off the McMurty and you can watch that it was clearly due to traction on the initial straight. I can almost bet you, F1's could beat that McMurty.

I just read that it's actually banned from competing in the shootout anymore. It can go up the hill, but not at full speed. That's a shame, but understandable.

I don't know why the commentator suggested the Alpine Pikes Peak could be a contender for outright fastest time up the hill... The McMurtry Speirling Pure has already been their own record on the hill on Thursday and nothing else at the show is anywhere near as fast as that thing on that track.

What makes you think they even would? Goodwood is a terrible track for F1 cars. The original sperling already beat the fastest F1 to ever run here, on debut in 22 and theyve already beaten their own record this year. Sperling is a faster car for tracks like this (and many F1 tracks), sorry to say. There is no space for F1 to get to close to top speed.
