This was the saddest week of them all dude. Headcanon: The spirit seemed happy at first because even if it died, its soul would be liberated from the torture that is being trapped in the game. But at the end of the fight he realized that there was absolutely nothing left, and no liberation was to come... the soul would continue to exist, but the spirit would be no longer be able to even appear in the game. Forever trapped in deletion, and a worse fate, the world he lived in being made a puppet by the corruption.
