Wow... I know Lucas Black doesn't get a lot of props for his acting chops... and maybe he didn't need to act that hard in this movie considering his background. But hearing the real winchell in this interview it feels like he acted him pretty darn well.

I played in that stadium and I've also marched in that stadium for band and I can tell you the energy in the history in that stadium kind of resonates with you when you step on that field

What’s criminal is how Chris comer wasn’t on there. He was the best running back I’ve ever seen at the time. Inasanelly overlooked and was considered one of the best running backs in Texas football HISTORY. and is barley even mentioned. A SHAME.

It's interesting to see how the attitude in Odessa appears to have changed when it comes to Friday Night Lights. I remember reading that when it came out a lot of people there really didn't care for it and how the community was portrayed.

I played for the saints pop Warner team in 82 and 83 I went to noel elementary and I played running back J.R. Rositas was the name I went by and would have been a sophomore in 88 and definitely would have been on varsity parents got divorced I moved to Clovis CA and continued to ball out here football in Texas especially Odessa it was there one thing they had to brag about because Permian recruited all the ballers from any and every district around my parents received phone calls from coaches at Permian recruiting me in 4th and 5th grade I was fast and would've helped out big if I was there
