These all sound great, Chelsea-especially your current devotional read! I’m reading St Augustine’s “Confessions” for Lent, and it’s just blowing my mind!! ❤ And then I’m 2/3 of the way through “Daniel Deronda,” and also just completely loving it!!

Always excited to see a new video from you! Thanks for your thoughts on Crime and Punishment! It seems much less intimidating now and one I might be reading in the future!

I’m rereading C&P in September! I am excited - it’s been decades! I have really enjoyed all of Nowen’s work that I’ve read. (3or4) I’ll have to look into that one. That Flap is amazing!! I’ve been reading Spurgeon for Lent. Loving it. Happy you are healing (I didn’t notice your eye until you said why you weren’t doing makeup). & My deepest sympathies for your family loss.

May your dear one rest in peace and rise in glory. I'm thinking of reading C&P, too. I'm pretty sure I read at least a part of the Snelling series a very long time ago. I remember talk of curing hams and hunting and the setting. And I think we own the Nouwen book, but I haven't read it. I will have to look for it. I didn't realize it was centred on the Rembrandt painting. That flap is genius! I have a book here that I borrowed from a friend called Learning from Henri Nouwen and Vincent van Gogh, A Portrait of the Compassionate Life by Carol A Berry. I'm looking forward to reading that one.

Crime and Punishment isn't the easiest introduction to Russian literature, but well worth checking out. I love Gogol, Tolstoy, Sholokhov, Solzhenitsyn and Grossman. Your take on Crime and Punishment was great and hope will encourage others to give it a go. Congratulations on reaching 1K, richly deserved. Take care young lady.

I’ve only ever read one long Russian novel- Anna Karenina! I did end up liking mainly Leven ?! storyline. I’m always curious about others! Interesting reading! Kirsten was my favorite, toooo! ♥️ I also enjoy Henri Nouwen.

Condolences to you. On Russians I loved the book of short stories, Sketches from a Hunter's Album by Turgenev. Currently reading the Count of Monte Cristo. I might be some time!

I’m sorry for your family’s loss. My reaction to _C&P_ was the same as yours (also my first Dostoevsky), a justly famous novel and not deserving all the intimidation that attaches to the title.

I'm so sorry for your loss but glad you're feeling better.❤🩹I also had a difficult reading month in February and had to scrap my Feb TBR. I am excited for a fresh start this month but will be approaching things more carefully, as you are. I still want to participate in some reading events but I will try not to overdo it. Happy reading!
