Hi Cynthia. It's pretty cold here in Ohio. I have never attempted to work with denim. That might be a goal to work with it this year.😊 Your jeans look beautiful.

Thank you Zelda. Denim is nice to work with as long as you use a needle made for denim. I imagine it's colder in Ohio than here, but I think we're only going to be 8 degrees tomorrow morning in western North Carolina. Brrr. I think I can handle the temp better than the low humidity though. 🥶🧵

Hi cynthia ,well done with the morgan jeans and i really love the facing and pocket lining 🤩, ..,thats my goal for this year to make jeans to fit me ,im 4ft 9 ,🙈😂 , ,well done on the weight loss too ,👏👏👏 i am working on two memory quilts made with baby clothes ,two dresses and a bunny this week 🥰 there is nothing as unpredictable as irish weather ,we have just gone from severe frosts straight into windy wet weather but yay for more sewing time 🥰🥰

Yes, love love the Morgan Jeans! I think I got the original pattern in a subscription box with all the hardwear needed to finish. Closet Core does sell kits specifically for their patterns, with the little tools needed to install the rivets and a few extras so you can practice. I love getting out the hammer and making some noise haha! I'm on my 6th. Your Cheyenne tunic looks great, and I don't know why I've not used my pattern yet. I generally like all my other Hey June pieces. Happy sewing and stay warm! 😘

Hi Lynn. I do believe my hardware kit is from Closet Core. I don't know if mine has installation tools or not. I suppose I could use a small hammer. I need to try another Hey June pattern. What other Hey June patterns have you tried?

@@MountainAccentsSewing The Willamette shirt and Phoenix blouse are really a nice patterns with good finishing and the Union Street tee is a go-to that I've made about 4 times. I've also got the Bryce Cargo pants pattern but have never printed it out.

Yay Cynthia! Your jeans are lovely! I haven’t tried the Morgan jeans yet. What features or aspects of the pattern do you like most? When you make jeans in the heavier weight, how difficult is it to add the belt loops after having already attached the waistband? 🧐 I bought two cuts of denim from BlackBird Fabrics that I’m eager to use for my first pair of me-mades. Hi Lynn. To be honest, I enjoy all aspects of sewing jeans. I like creating all of the pockets. I love doing the button fly.. I don't mind a zip fly but I enjoy making a buuton fly more. The belt loops is another story. They can be a little tricky. I have to use my better sewing machine and go slowly. 😊

Your jeans are gorgeous! That's another one of those garments that will probably be worn to death. Massive congratulations on the weight loss: that is hard work!!! I admire your determination to improve your health. This is a completely unscientific suggestion, but have you tried drinking more fluids to help with your blood pressure. I only suggest this because everyone I know who has low blood pressure is a really big drinker. Most drink a lot of water, but some do tea, herbal teas, and various other fluids. I know that sounds sort of crazy, but if an extra glass of water a day would help even a little it would be worth it. I am finishing up another Love Notions Rhapsody blouse. I added cuffs to the sleeves and have yet to make the buttonholes and sew on the buttons. Everything thing else is done. I'm still undecided about what to sew next. I can't get the idea of making my own bed slippers out of my head, so if I can find the materials I want that may be up next. There is a pattern from Martha Stewart that was fee online that I will probably use.

Hi Nadine. Cozy bed slippers would be very nice to wear on these cold winter days. I hope you can find the perfect fabric and pattern. As for my blood pressure, I actually drink a lot of water. I did eat more salty foods through the holidays and too many sweets. This particular spike was a little scary because it jumped so high. The medication change and weight loss is helping. I hope it is back to normal soon. I hope you have plenty of time to sew. Since we have had such frigid cold temps this weekend, I finished my jeans and have cut out 2 more projects. 😊❄️

@@MountainAccentsSewing I’m so glad what you’re doing is working for you. I’ll pray that you continue to improve. I hope you’ll be able to stay warm and have some fun sewing. My husband and I are in the midst of reconditioning another Singer 500a (Rocketeer) so I’ll probably be working on that tomorrow. I’m not in a super big hurry to get my buttonholes done, however, because my Rhapsody is made out of rayon challis and it’s not warm enough here to wear it at the moment.
