Fun Facts: 1) This movie having Pamela Vorhees as the killer is an even bigger plot twist now then it was when it first came out. Because now Jason is heavily affiliated with Friday The 13th films in mainstream culture and people go into the series expecting to see Jason. 2) This was supposed to be a standalone film that copied the success of Halloween (which the franchise pretty much does altogether in future movies). It was supposed to be a whodunit murder mystery. But it later spawned into a profitable franchise. 3) The final scenes were supposed to be ambiguous for the viewer. Leaving you with the possibility that Jason is still alive, down in the lake. As a standalone, it was a great way to end the movie.

Only hitchhiked once. It was either that or walk home in a snow storm. Lady probably saved my life. After seeing the twist the first victims' scene makes more sense. They reacted like they got caught by their mothers.

Friday the 13th is a, dismissed for riding off of the success of Halloween has fashion its on identity, Halloween being stylish and suspenseful, Friday the 13th is a campfire tale rollercoaster gore romp. an interesting surprise for those know about Jason only to find out part 1 is about his Mother being the killer. Also interesting how its retroactively connected to Nightmare on Elm Street via Freddy vs Jason.

It's one of my all time favs. Yes most people are shocked to find out that it's his Mom as the killer in Part 1, being that Jason is such a pop cultural and horror icon. I like how you understand that the end was. A dream an that Jason was never there in the first place. Fun fact about that scene about Jason popping up from the water. It was just added for one last jump scare at the end. When no one would expect it especially with the pecfull calm music. Also the kid playing young Jason was supposed to be. Played by the directors son but when the mom found out that the water was 30 degrees. She override her husband the directors idea about their son playing him. Thats the thing even the movie studio failed to understand. That the end was all a dream or nightmare. Because the movie clearly stated that Jason died so he was never in the movie. In the first place so when the movie studio wanted to make a sequel an have. Jason Voorhees in it the director was like what are you. Talking about Jason is dead he was never in the first movie. So why would he be in the sequel. Thats why Tom Savini who did the special effects in this movie. Did not come back to work on the 2nd one. Because he even said in a interview why would Jason be in the 2nd one. When he wasn't in the first movie in the first place. So Tom Savini went to work on the movie The Burning instead. Thats why there is no clear answer to whare Jason comes from in the 2nd movie. Because Jason is only in it because of movie studio interference. Because they said we want a Friday the 13th Part 2 an we want Jason Voorhees. As the antagonist even though the ones behind the first movie. Said it makes no sense what so ever because it clearly stated Jason Voorhees. Died as a kid like his mom said in the first movie.

@@PopcornReactions Thats what happens when the movie studio buts in an interferes. Especially when the first movie established that Jason Voorhees . Was officially dead he died as a kid. Then the director goes an ask the question. How am I supposed to bring back someone who was. Dead to start with an was never in the movie in the first place. You get no official answer because there is non an can't be. Because it makes no sense in the first place to bring someone who was dead. Long before the start of the first movie an was never in the first movie. In the first movie but then he's suddenly alive an a adult. As well as the antagonist in the 2nd movie it makes no logical sense to start with. But that's what the movie studio insisted on. So all you will get is fan theories and guesses. With nothing to back them up so you can thank the movie studio for that.

Hi , Not sure if you will see this since I am a new subscriber to your channel for a couple of weeks now . I have been catching up on your earlier movies like this one.... your reactions and commentary here are great . I enjoy your sense of humor along with the movies.... makes it worth to keep watching . I started hitch hiking when I was twelve.... I was one of those kids at 6yrs. that would walk up to strangers in the grocery store , library , at the beach.... basically anywhere in public and just start talking to strangers about their life.... like I knew them already . I was not always like that.... I did have my shy moments . As an adult now I know that when I was feeling shy.... that's when I was around someone that likely would harm me if I gave them the chance.... I listened to my conscience when something felt "off" around someone I would just get away from them . I know I am one of the lucky ones.... I have not hitch hiked in about 10yrs. and given that I now live within walking distance to many shops and restaurants I do not see the need to hitch hike . My favorite slasher movies are Jason's.... I find Jason's back story the most interesting and sad . Thank you for your channel .

There’s not many sequels that tops the first movie but this one does. This is not your typical babysitter slasher. It’s more a psychological horror thriller. It’s disturbing due to the interaction between the stranger and babysitter when he comes knocking at her door claiming his car broke down.
