After reading the script for the 3D version I have to agree with your comments. If they had filmed that script you would of had one hell of a ride. A nice slow Carpenter style build up and then all hell would of been unleashed. It would of been such a hit. Let's hope it gets made one day. Hollywood really need to get their act together.

After reading the synopsis I agree the script was way to busy have three different killers and changing the mythology in such an unsatisfying way was not going to be good! I honestly thought maybe they were going to go with a murder mystery plot where Jason drowned and people start disappearing at Camp Crystal Lake and Elias Voorhees was investigating and discovers his wife is killing people and maybe she kills him and Mrs Voorhess goes on a massive killing spree killing everyone at the camp before being killed herself and maybe Jason would appear at the end which would set up the sequel for Jason!

My understanding is that Paramount still keeps the video rights to parts 1-8. If they were to come out with some awesome blu ray steel book of parts 1-8 - and better yet brand new 4k transfers - I would be very happy and would not miss Friday the 13th 2017 at all.

Jason is a force of nature that doesn't need to be explained. I think the biggest mistake in the classic movies is showing him without his mask. Not knowing what he is or what he wants is what makes him terrifying. At most, his backstory should be something the audience has to piece together for themselves... and the kills should be difficult to watch, like in a David Cronenberg movie.

The reason they postpone the game is they want people with consoles like PS4 and XBox One to have the game. As a result they have to make sure everything's approved by the companies, since it's an independent game and not part of a major video game studio.

They are working on the bugs and stuff now for all 3 platforms. At PAX a few weeks ago, they confirmed that they are still on track for a Spring release but they want to make sure that there are no bugs and it is running well across the board. They truly are trying to deliver a great game and they know that 1st impressions are everything.

A clever way to reintroduce this character would be to not market it as a Friday the 13th movie. Still market it as a slasher film but the town has been renamed, there's been a cover up... it would be awesome to walk into a slasher flick that you don't KNOW is in the Friday the 13th series.

And Im gonna tell you another thing abouy Platinum Dunes, they dont give a fuck about Jason or us Friday fans, they want to make the cheapest Jason flick with the most monetary return. THATS why they rejected Nick's script, because it was "too expensive". There is a similat story about kills from the 2009 reboot that where rejected and rewritten because of "budget"

I have some good news for you the rights and the license to the Friday the 13th franchise will revert back to the original people which is Mr.Sean S.Cunningham and Mr.Victor Miller and this will all happen between June or July of 2018 of next year so the f13 franchise will be in good hands once again due to the f13 lawsuit that Mr.Sean S.Cunningham and Mr.Victor Miller are currently involved in!

Theres a lot of ideas for f13 i think.. The snow idea. The footage idea. (like that fan film). just one dude against jason. A camp with kids and counselors (like part 6)plus (the burning) A police or swat team is searching jason (pretty much like predators) Or maybe. a prisoners bus is stuck on Crystal lake highway, after they make a riot. Now they are armed, they are dangerous. but they are not match for jason....(CONAIR with predator with F13) I dunno....just thinking. But plz, no more space themed movies.

Jarbloko Oooooor, a simple movie with an old Pamela, working as a cook in the camp, she sees a young kid drown, wich gives her as sort of PTSD to when Jason dies, she goes crazy thinking the kid was Jasom and kills the counselors one by one

The Anacosta script would’ve probably been one of the best Jason movies we’ve gotten in years. I’ve been trying to petition this and leave a copy of whoever talks about the script on every page I could, let’s try to get this movie made it even if they retool the script a little bit that would’ve been the ultimate Jason movie

I've been reading movie scripts during class when I'm bored, more specifically rejected movie scripts or unproduced ones. Started with the potential Chronicle (2012) sequel called Martyr, which was pretty good, but didn't fit the feel of the first film. Now I've moved onto the Friday the 13th 3D (Nick Antosca) script. It's pretty basic and nothing special so far. I'm only about 15 pages in. I still would've loved to see another film released to carry on the Friday the 13th legacy into the modern day.

I think its safe to say that Friday the 13th will eventually happen. Probably 2020 with the 40 year anniversary, I hope sooner but I can wait for a good one !

The problem is, every since Marvel became successful with their "universe" there's no such thing as single blockbuster movies now, theres "The Franchise" The first movie is just to "Set up the UNIVERSE" these movies will take place in, so who cares if it's overlong convoluted crap that barely shows the character people care about, it's just the setup! Of course, if Platinum Dunes would take a look at how well that mentality has served them and how few of their reboots have gotten sequels, maybe they'd think "Oh, we should make the first movie good on it's own rights" or at least even passable.

I commented on your earlier video that I'd rather have SOMETHING/ANYTHING rather than NOTHING when it came to the potential release of another Friday the 13th movie. I should have put an asterisk there and said provided that Jason would be in the entirety of the movie. Who is the inclusion of Elias/Pamela Voorhees supposed to satisfy? Newcomers (and I'd even include casual fans in there) have no idea who either of these characters are. And I think if you were to poll the most hardcore fans, I don't think anyone would want to see either of these characters and especially not for any significant period of time. As you said it, this is a script that would have pleased nobody. While I'm still skeptical about the release of the next Halloween, I will at least give them credit for starting after Halloween 2 where Michael is in his prime. People like Friday the 13th because of Jason - not the Voorhees family - and I don't think anyone needs any backstory on his life or what makes Jason tick. Just truly appalling how misguided these efforts have been on what should in theory be the easiest film to write that one can ever imagine.

that Friday the 13th 3D Script is one of the best unused scripts it's like Romero's Resident Evil script or Phantasm 1999 script! It's a shame they passed on it (It could easily be the best re-introduction of Jason) All this info is proof how out of touch and shady Hollywood is Hollywood gets a odd pass but, look at some of the pure garbage put out there (example Kevin Smith's Yoga Hosers was only made to launder dirty money) Horror is dead the so-called "Horror" now is aimed at dense teenagers PG-13 isn't scary (Never understood why the studio didn't just adapted the Jason vs Learherface comic book from the 90's that would make a outstanding film and breathe new life into both characters (Read the book and prove me wrong) it's a true buried treasure and overlooked

I actually disagree about the 2009 reboot. I absolutely loved it and thought it was a good story bringing Jason to life and explaining the movements of him through camp. Also, the acting was good and entertaining. I felt Jason had a bit of energy and a dark seeded passion. Maybe the filter was disliked, but I enjoyed the feel of the vision. It was different then the originals and way different than the original Halloween which started the wheels rolling for these movies. It gave it a modern feel and darkness. (I also liked Rob Zombies Halloweens) I am not commenting to argue with anyone's personal opinion. I just had a different feel for the film. BTW thanks for the video. You do a great job breaking down your thoughts and information that is provided in the subject.

Who in the fuck is Elijia Voorhees. Just remake the original story of Mrs Voorhees. It's simple, all they have to do is recreate murders for the 5 that were not shown and then do a alternate ending that involves Mrs V meeting Steve Christi and attacking him with a 12 gauge shotgun, a great right hook and then more classic attacks with a machete. Fans want a remake of Sean S. Cunningham's and Steve Miners version. Just extend the chase scene with more action and drama.

Too bad in Hollywood they think people like to be reminded of the premise, even a newer audience would dislike a recap of the story inside the film itself. Greed kills good films, Jason exterminating a town? Awesome. Jason appearing at the end of the film? A load of crap.

I thought I had heard at one point that there was going to be found footage and also filmed interviews of Jason's mom in the movie. Maybe they were trying to go with the idea that the TCM and Amityville movies have used recently. I would probably go with the script they have, but tweak it a good bit. They could easily bring Jason in and lead to more screen time for him. I think the idea of showing his father and mother both as serial killers prior to Jason killing is interesting back story. Although I don't know if another origin story is what the 13th installment needs. I don't love the other script that much either to be honest, unless I am envisioning it incorrectly. It almost feels to Manhattan like. However, maybe the script is more like the script of The Town That Dreaded Sundown, in regards to Jason coming to town and destroying the town folk. But him walking down Main Street and killing everyone is a bit wonky. IDK. I would be open to either if they had a good director and producer behind them.

They have been missing opportunities to make a Friday the 13th movie for 8 years. Even the remake while not great could have had a sequel and I would have watched it because I love the franchise. Between the movie rights being shuffled around and people just not sure what they want to do with it. We the fans have been deprived of one of our favorite characters. The game is coming out next month so I'll get my F13 fix that way for now. I predict Jason will be back on the big screen eventually. It's like Batman or Spiderman the demand is great so it will happen sooner or later.

I think that Friday the 13th: 3D script wasn't good. The characters were are just stock. Nothing great about them, I mean I think you should have them likeable, I found none likable. Jason was like Terminator. I don't want Jason to be Terminator, he should be Jason Voorhees. I don't want the film to start with Jason dead, and it looks like that's where they were going with it, but that's not really explained. They need to do something special for the 13th film in the series. At least make it unique, even if it is something that what we've seen before, make the characters likeable, and not annoying ridiculous characters and Jason not be dead, or have the powers/abilities of him being dead. I'm not saying, get Academy Award story material, but there's a fine line between typical horror film and a Friday the 13th film. Friday the 13th seems to have made it's own type of film with characters that are real interesting. For example, Part IV did have elements of the typical horror film, but the characters were likable, interesting, the story was good and the end product was great. I was hoping for something like that as I read it, but it just never happened for me. The 13th film should be special. It needs to be Friday the 13th and not some shitty typical horror film, which happens to have Jason Voorhees.

I want to be a directed when I get older, but iv had 2 ideas for a Friday the 13 series. One is the movie starts with Mrs. Voorhees getting beheaded. The girl runs,then you here Mrs voorhees voice talking to Jason telling him to kill whoever comes in on Crystal lake starting with the girl who killed her. Flash forward 10 years. The girl is married as a husband who is chopping wood at that time. He here's a noise and puts the axe down and walked over. As he's walking you see a hand pick up the axe and is in a first person who of the killer. The guy sees its a bunny and as he turns around the killer hits him in the torso and in the head and he turns around revealing to be Jason. Jason then opens the door to the house and starts walking in. She sees him and Jason chased he around the house a little bit finally trapping her. Then Jason goes very berzerk chopping her up blood every where. When he turns around it reveals that the husband liked hockey so that means Jason sees the mask. He takes off the sack and puts it on. He's sees himself in a mirror then grabs the axe and walks out. Then we're back at crystal lake. Counsellors start rolling in and we have about 30 min before Jason kills again. People witch are the counsellors just talk and kinda get the base set up of the movie. Then we see two teens who are sneaking off to go have sex thinking there really cool bump into Jason. There having sex and the guy has to go pee. He goes behind a tree and bushes. Then we see Jason come up and hit him in the head with the axe. The girl keeps saying come on hurry up. And Jason comes up when she's on the ground and hacks off a arm the hits her in the head. Then we go back, and the head person asks where they went. Then we see every one kinda get ready for bed some are gonna stay up and like party. Then we see a old couple who are close by. The wide complains the music is too loud and tells her husband to tell there to shut up. It Dosent stop but then we here it squeal. The wife goes out to see a bloody chain and only see the back out the dog. She screams and then Jason grabs her and crushes her head. The husband comes out with a shotgun and yells like what happened. He sees his dog and wife and then Jason. He says stop or he will shoot. He shoots Jason 2 and runs in side. From there he calls the cops and gets more shells.jason bust open the door and the man runs into the bedroom closing the door. Jason goes in to see the window open and he walks outside. The man is about to make it to the camp but Jason threw the axe and hit him in the leg. Jason walks up to him and breaks his jaw. When the cops show up at the house, one if the cops goes to the camp to ask questions and the other searches the house does see Jason he comes at her with the axe she shoots him but he keeps walking. She request back up and Jason dose kill her. The coo runs back to the house and Jason knocks him on the ground. Jason swings the axe on the crotch and then hits him in the neck. Jason sees the campers and goes to the cabins. And does kill a couple of them. He then sees flashing lights. Indicating the police are here. Then he goes on a rampage of killing cops it's a bloodbath. The lone survivor runs to the camp and gets into a house. He tells them about Jason. Then Jason burst through the door grabs the cop and breaks his neck. He then grabs one of the guys trying to protect his girlfriend and Jason sticks him the the fire place. Burning him alive. Then the 2 girls and one guy one. The guy grabs the bat and the girls run outside to a nearby cabin. And the guy attempts to to knock him out buy hitting him in the head but that doesn't stop Jason. He grabs the guy and rips out his eyes. It's a bloodbath the people are dying left and right. Then the last 3 run to the town for help. Jason grabs one and pops the head. One goes into a bar and and tells people what happened. Then Jason comes in and the town start to fight one calls the cops. Now Jason is killing people left and right again. Cops show up they take the one counsellor and takes to the station but the one is still in the bar. She runs up to the roof. There gunshots and screams. Then Jason traps her and throws her off the roof. Lot more people die. But the cops do take down Jason. Then we see news stations and reporters claiming to be one the most brutal killings I f all time. They clean up the camp and town. And then you see Jason as there at the camp cleaning up in a body bag. Be unzips it and you see his eye open then going black and hearing gunshots and screams The End

Read Antoska script. Frankly: I do not understand what captured you so much. It was a natural comedy piece of shit. I couldn't even make it all the way through I was so bored of the dialogue , the plot , the fucking stupid characters ...everything !!!! One thing I hated about the reboot and that crops up in this crappy screenplay was too much sex talk and sex on screen ....yes the original movies had sex in them but not in this crass and ugly way it's portrayed and talked about here ....it's just a huge turn off . It was like a piece of dreadful fan fiction written by a teenage boy who never gets any .

I read it and it sounded great I would of loved seen this movie it was a old school Friday the 13th. we already know jasons orgin story by all the other movies . maybe new line will use the Friday the 13th 3d script. I read both the Friday the 13th 3d was definitely better the other had a couple parts I liked but the pacing would of been horrible the 3d one had great characters bad ass kiss and a kick ass ending. making Jason keep getting stronger and the bone saw scene would of been awesome. I can't believe how they passed on the 3d script that would of been a epic 13th installment.
