Friday the 13th- A New Fun Fan Theory

A new fan theory puts Jason in the woods to make one of the iconic kills after being chased by Mrs. Voorhees. We're really trying to make this one work... But unfortunately I don't think we can pull it off.

A couple of things to chime in one....1 being Pamela is wearing a flannel that seems to be a similar color cheme under her sweater when she first pulls the knife on Alice 2. you can see the ring on Pamelas hand when she first meets Alice outside the cabin...which makes sense considering it was a part of the script and a clue from Victor Miller on who the killer was While I dont think She worked alone (which I have a theory up of my own)... but no way i believe it was it Jason

I'm taking it further! I dont think Jason ever died in the lake. I think he almost did because the counselors ignored him because he was 'different' due to his disfigurements. So Pamela then killed the counselors at the beginning to get the camp shut down to live in solitude with her disfigured son, Jason, so nobody could make fun of him again. Until Steve decided to open the camp back up again...she couldnt have people making fun of her Jason again. So she helped him kill the counselors. You're telling me this old lady did the following: Was able to lift a full grown dead man onto the top bunk. Pierce the skin of a man through his back and neck. Have enough force with an axe to put it through a skull. Able to throw a full grown dead girl through a window. Lift, then hang a full grown dead man from the back of a door. She was completely dry when her and Alice had the final battle, yet she had allegedly just killed Steve outside in the pouring rain. It makes sense that she had a rough time with Alice because she's, well, old....thats what it would look like if an old woman tried to fight a younger one. Also, the kid Jason at the end was shown as a dream...she wasn't attacked by the real Jason the night before because she took the canoe into the middle of the lake and he was afraid of going into the water, so thats how she survived at the end. Either that, or, its just a cheesy 80s horror movie with continuity errors 🤷🏻‍♂️😂

Correct that's been my personal fan fic for years, and I ALWAYS get bashed on the F13 forums for it lmao. Jason found Alice's house five months after the first movie = he never drowned and was totally assisting his mother in keeping the camp closed for years, as well as murdering the first wave of counselors in training!

I always kind of just thought of it as Jason went in the water just fine but came out mentally handicapped and therefore wasn't her special little boy anymore spends the rest of his life neglected by his mother because that was no longer her son but then seeing her acts of violence upon these people framed as her love for him inspired him to kill because of his love for his mother

That honestly makes a lot of sense but don't just count out an "old lady" like that. She's like 50 not like 90 lol. I agree that your average 50 year old woman is probably not bodily throwing other adults around but it's very much in the realm of possibility. My grandmother could have done at least most of that stuff at 50 with just farm strength before her health started failing.

The guy with the blue hair made a good point about film and some of the issues being overlooked intentionally because it was believed that the audience wouldn't see it anyway because it was too dark. You can see this with the the 4K version of Michael Jackson's Thriller. The zombies look too brightly lit when there make-ups were intentionally exaggerated, like in stage plays, because they were being filmed in shadows.

As far as the shirt, she probably changed because she got blood on it. That kill happens early in the day and it's probably before she went "berserker mode" and still had some of her wits.

They do mention in Part 2 that Jason saw his mother decapitated- so maybe he wasn't just there- but an undiscovered accomplice..

Right! That's what we were saying earlier that she initially got into the Jeep because it was Mrs. Voorhees and she didn't feel threatened. She chased her into the woods where Jason was and he was able to kill Annie...because the person in the woods is clearly a large male.

Pamela is wearing the sweater because even though it's June, it's cold out at night. She's wearing it after the rain stopped and she removed the rain poncho. She is still wearing the shirt from earlier in the day. If there is a change it's only because of the cold and the difference between Savini and Starvarkis being her and Palmer. The ring was a replacement for the severed finger from an earlier draft. Originally, Pamela loses a finger killing Barry in 1958. It was supposed to be the clue that the killer was still the same. The novelization for the second film states that Jason was dead in 1958, but returned to life after the murders. He caused a fire in a cabin, starting the first fires that Enos mentioned. The sequence where Annie is killed was supposed to occur before Jack, Ned and Marcie arrive. It was changed to make Steve a suspect and to space out the killings a bit. This is in earlier drafts. That's why Annie isn't picked up by Ned.

The sweater mother has on at the end had to happen because she had to put on the front that she was trustworthy so she could get close to kill. Even though she just killed by sneak attack on the rest they needed to introduce her character. So after killing all day she would be a bloody mess so she needed a change of clothes for the final girl. She did had the plad shirt on underneath the sweater so at least Cunningham had that in place. The ring to me comes down to lazy directing. I always call out bad directing when they are supposed to pay attention to those details so it all comes together in the end. The Jason theory… in part 2 they say that Alice went missing a couple months later. At that time Jason was grown man. So maybe he was killing with mother in part 1. Maybe he did kill Annie??? I know far fetched but just trying to back up Mikes theory.

Extremely far fetched Mike theory... BUT! I love it, and I might try to keep to alive! I mean... Savini himself said it was Jason! Haha. They were killing together. Pamela chased Annie into the woods so Jason could kill her! Actually... Maybe Mom was teaching Jason how to kill to get revenge on the camp councilors! "Good boy, Jason! Kill for mommy!" It all makes sense now! Jason was the apprentice! Mom was the teacher. And now, has has to avenge her death throughout the series!

I always thought that it was Pamela wearing the flannel shirt. I think she put the sweater over it just in case the final girl had heard that there was a woman going around in a flannel killing people.

It was also night, and raining, and from a filming standpoint, they wanted her to look bigger and more rugged. But from a story standpoint, it was night, raining and probably colder, and I wouldn't rule out the idea that the shirt had blood either.

She does have the ring on for the entire finale and has a flannel underneath her sweater. I do like the theory she had someone working with her. Simply because of things like lifting Bill up and sticking him to a door or full throwing Brenda through a window.

Nice theory. But I think you are overlooking the fact that whoever killed Annie was able to drive a jeep as Annie was picked up on the side of the road and then jumps out after talking with the driver a little bit. I don't think Annie would have gotten into the car if it were a disfigured man driving, so I'm leaning towards Pamela. Also Jason has never shown the ability to drive a car, unlike Michael. In terms of the flannel, maybe Pamela put the sweater on over the flannel later because it gets cold after the sun goes down by the lake. And with the ring, the comics have referred to Pamela getting pregnant with Jason just after high school. Maybe that was Elijah's high school ring he gave her. There's nothing to prove this, but that theory does kind of fill in the holes as to why the hands of the killer has that ring which looks like a class ring to me.

Nah! Thats a part of the theory! Pamela chased Annie into the woods after she jumped out of the jeep. But Jason was in the woods waiting… then he killed her for his mom. Tag team style like Legion of Doom! 🤣🤣🤣. FAR fetched, I know… but a fun theory!

This is incorrect. If you look at Pamela's collar area you can see the flannel shirt UNDER the blue sweater where she is first talking to Alice. Bear in mind it is night and was raining so it may have been colder which is a reason for her to put it one... Why would Jason wear a ring? Yes it is a man's hand wearing the ring in the Annie kill scene, but this is because there was no point paying Betsy Palmer for that day when it was a closeup. There are inconsistencies and things that don't make sense but most movies especially low budget ones have mistakes in them if you look close enough. At no point have any of the people who worked on it said it was meant to be Jason, there would be no reason to lie about this, and Tom Savini mispoke as many people do about the original where they assume Jason is the killer. Savini is not a fan of Friday the 13th so it's an easy slip up for him. Having said that part 2 suggests that he has been in the woods ever since the drowning but you would think his mother would have known about this- which creates a major plot hole but we were never meant to think that deeply about these films.

Pamela (name never mentioned in the movie by the way), was driving around in a Jeep all throughout the day, very possible that she kept multiple shirts or sweaters in her Jeep. If she’s lived the area for a long time, she knows how quickly the weather can change in the woods.

If Jason wasn’t doing some of the killing on the first Friday The 13th who threw Brenda through the window? Or how did she kill Bill leaving him hanging on the door. Mrs Voorhees arrived too soon to be throwing Brenda through the window and then driving up

Pamela didn't throw Brenda through the window like Jason throws Rick and Rob. He chucked them like a chair. Pamela picked Brenda up and shoved her through. Alice takes a long time to react to it, during which Pamela ran to her jeep. Bill was shot three times and he didn't go down, leading to Pamela slashing his throat. After he died, she strung him up. She is strong enough to do this.

My theory has always been that Pamela had two sons: the older one (Jason) who drown and a younger one who was just a baby in 1957. When Jason died Pamela (obviously) went nuts and kept the baby hidden from everyone because she didn’t trust anyone. When the camp reopened, her and the baby - now a full grown man in his 20s - went on a rampage. She did the driving (picked up Annie) and some of the kills, but they worked together. Then when she was fighting with Alice and got her head chopped off he actually didn’t see it happen, just the end result to which he grabbed the head and bugged out not knowing Alice was in the canoe. The younger son had to survive on his own in the woods, scaring off would be tourists and gawkers from his make shift cabin, for nearly five years until another camp opened up near by. Everyone in the surrounding area knew the story of Jason drowning and his mother going crazy, so Jason became the name of the “boogeyman,” the local legend that parents tell their kids to get them to behave. So when the killing in 2-4 starts they just call the killer “Jason” even though it’s not the actual Jason, but rather his younger brother. But then part 6 happens and the supernatural shit starts and throws all semblance of reality out the window. 😂 Addendum: There could also be a third brother who is “normal” and this would explain who was able to hunt down Alice at the beginning of part 2. I haven’t fleshed that out entirely, but what if it was Ted? He’s the right age range for another kid… only “main” character from 2 to survive besides Ginny… and he’s a bit of a nut who is a local.
