I think season 1 of Crystal Lake will be that Summer or the Summer before Jason drowns as a kid. I actually find it extremely interesting to get to know all these characters, and to see a fleshed out origin story. I'm just hoping that they don't modernize the time period, and keep the series in the late 50's early 60's. Maybe even the 70's...

For me, I'd like to see Carrie Coon as Pamela Voorhees. She played as a tragic mother in The Leftovers and was a heartbreaking performance but you also kinda saw how crazy she went after she lost her kids overtime and when we see her near the last few episodes, she looks rough. She had that Betsy Palmer vibe with her smile, hair and even a sweater she wore that could really work well as her own take as Pamlea that's probably a bit more intense.

I think you are right with each season of the The Friday 13th series retelling the films. It might be a little like the series Bates Motel, where it reintroduced the characters, fleshed them and the world out more (adding subplots and new characters) and then ultimately "catching up" with the film but changing it to suit the series themes.

I agree with your comment about liking the kid actors for Billy & Tommy (Julian Hilliard & Jett Klyne). I love them both especially and I really wanted to them to stay and naturally grow with the roles and they seem to love the roles and I hope they stay and the gay character in Coven of Chaos is someone else but if not, I’ll be disappointed and miss Julian & Jett but I enjoyed Heartstopper so I’ll love this casting too. Julian was just amazing as Wiccan for me and he is my ideal casting!💙🧙🪄

I have faith in Fuller. His Hannibal is legit an impressive reworking of that mythology. He just did The Resort on Peacock. Which was really good, and not enough people have seen it. I think it's interesting this Crystal Lake project was announced after that show. Kind of blending the horror or Hannibal and the vacation setting of The Resort. The Friday The 13th franchise desperately needs an overhaul.

Hopefully they’ll come up with a good storyline reason as to why Jason wasn’t around during the events of Pamela’s killing spree despite still being alive and living off the nearby land, not to mention it was said that he witnessed Pamela’s decapitation as it happened and collected her head and sweater. I know it was probably because they didn’t expect to make a sequel when making the original, but that question has always been in the back of my mind whenever I rewatch it. Or maybe they’ll just change that all up entirely. But above all, do my boi Paul some justice.

I think that somebody rescued Jason when he was drowning when he washed up ashore at another side of the lake, and then maybe he did some kind of ritual and brought Jason back to life. The guy who rescued him must have been training him to become a killer after he saw his mother beheaded and wanted revenge
