Fun fact; The big guy that Jason killed in the diner, played as Jason in a previous Friday the 13th. IMO, Kane Hodder played Jason the best. He was Jason in I believe 7, 8, Jason goes to Hell, and Jason X. He also played Leatherface in the third Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3. He's pretty big in Horror movies.

Here are a couple of gems for ya’ll to know: The reason why Jason can catch up to his victims so fast is because he can teleport anywhere. You may run faster or hide anywhere, he can teleport and catch you. The little boy with the one eye that Rennie always sees is Jason when he was a little kid. Jason’s face was always deformed because he was born with hydrocephalus. So no Rennie is not high when she sees him appears lol.

This could've arguably had the most iconic "Friday" scenes of them all but they weren't given enough budget, which is why Jason was only briefly in Manhattan. The ending was also the drizzling shits. If I was a billionaire, this would be one movie i'd pay for to be remade.

Same. Great concept, just lacked character development and weak story. One of the better movies imo just because the setting was different though it lacked alot of stuff. Jason's look was cool and the ending was interesting. Pouring acid on Jason, he took it off and that unmasked look was FREAKY. Seeing Jason that vulnerable, I wish we seen more of that side of him in the franchise. He's still human underneath all of that dirt.

In part 5 was a different setting taking place at a halfway house. The camp setting transition is weird from lives to new blood to Manhattan. They didn’t give af when they were making these movies lol. Also the tall guy in the diner was a stuntman who doubled for Jason in the movie and would later go on to play him in Freddy vs Jason.

To answer some of the questions you had here >Jason teleports. It was hinted at in earlier movies. And by part 6, it was happening a little more. This film just confirms it and has him teleport often. >The electric shock that brings him back to life acts almost like a defibrilator that doctos use in hospitals when they shout "clear" and attempt to reset a patient's heartbeat. >The reason Jason is focused so much on attacking them is because the "death curse" (as crazy Ralph put it in the very first Friday The 13th) is centered on anyone who disturbs the peace of camp crystal lake (be it reviving Jason or crossing through his lake area). His mission was to clean house and kill everyone on board, since they were "tresspassing" on his property. But some escaped. So he was just following them to finish the job. The other New Yorkers were safe as long as they didn't get in his way. >Similar to Tina in part 7, Rennie has premonitions of some sort. So she's aware of Jason's drowning as a child. When she sees the little boy cowering in fear at the ending, she's seeing Jason for who he really is deep down (a child who died) as opposed to the murderous monster he looks like on the outside.

Do I have to explain. The cabins are still there. Remember that was the same pier from 7 just rebuilt. They was in the town near crystal lake when they left on the ship. The town is at the seashore. The first couple was on crystal lake when they accidentally revived Jason. The ending is like that because they thought they was stopping at this movie

Fun facts and observations: It's good that the opening credits in Friday the 13th Part 8 looked more 80s style....in 1989. Between the deckhand in Friday the 13th Part 8, Crazy Ralph from the first movie and the Eyeball guy in Part 3, maybe people would actually listen to these old coots if they didn't act so weird. Most of the movie took place on a cruise ship and the back alley scenes actually took place in Vancouver British Columbia instead of New York due to severe budget cuts that didn't allow the crew to film much in New York.

Great movie imo. But my question is, WHERE DID HE GET GLOVES IN BETWEEN 7 AND 8 WHEN HE WAS 'DEAD'? But I liked Jason's look in this, it was interesting. But the ending with Jason turning into a little boy was just in the girl's head. Because the whole movie she was seeing Jason as a little asian boy lmao. The subway scene was great, seeing Jason take off the mask after the acid was poured onto him was interesting. Up until the little boy thing. But Jason didn't kill anyone because his goal was to kill the last ones on the ship mainly I think and it was the 80's in New York lol. But that cook in that restaurant that went to fight Jason but got tossed played Jason in Freddy vs. Jason in the 2000's funny enough. Kane Hodder, who played Jason in Part 7-Jason X, favorite Jason scene was Jason sight seeing because you never see Jason in a city like New York and he too, was taking it all in. It was a different scene for him and so many people. I mean it was the 80's lmao. But this one of my favorites just because it was a different kind of Jason movie. Better than some others after this one, but at the same time story and characters weren't the best. But just seeing Jason in a city rather than the woods of Camp Crystal Lake I really enjoyed and his whole look was great.

So the ending to this movie and all the child Jason scenes are notoriously hated by fans, and the fact Manhattan is only in the last 20 minutes lol. But Jason looks great and Kane Hodder does a great job portraying him. This movie also basically cements the idea that Jason has some kind of teleporting gimmick. I know a lot of people hate the Uncle/Teacher, but I never really hated him in this movie. He's very protective of the main girl because of past trauma (That he did cause I guess), and he does refuse the student trying to seduce him. I think he's just a bit of an ass. But the reason he didn't follow the thugs is because they literally said they'd kill her lmao

They’re at different cabins because it’s a big ass lake and there are different cabins and houses at different parts of the lake. In part 2 they were at packanack lodge, it part 3 they were at Higgins house aka their summer home, part 4 they were at Jarvis house with the party house next to them being rented out, part 5 the nut house camp for teens aka Pinehurst camp lol. Also each Friday movie was shot at a different lake :)! And Crystal lake is supposed to be based in New Jersey if I’m not mistaken🧐.

This was the last film of the 80's and last at Paramount Pictures, the Rights went to NewLine Cinema, due to legal reasons over the title it couldn't be called Friday the 13th Part 9 but instead the next installment would be titled Jason goes to Hell, its weird, has some strange twists n turns BUT HAS AN AMAZING SURPRISE AT THE END, PERSONALLY HOPE DREW AT LEAST GETS TO SEE THE ENDING HIMSELF, ITS WHERE JASON'S MASK IS ON THE GROUND AND THE DOG FINDS IT.

You have to cut his head off 👀👀👀
