Movie wise Halloween the Original is a classic well done film while Friday the 13th are fun slasher films. But a legit fight between Jason and Michael Myers is ONE SIDED AS F*CK ESPECIALLY if you read the comics. When Jason came back to life as a super zombie he has Superhuman strength and Deadpool-esque regeneration (No lie read the comics and they mention it in Jason X) Michael is a strong durable dude especially if you go with the curse of thorn storyline from Halloween 4- 6 the curse of michael myers but besides that you could KILL Michael with Decapitation. Even if he faked us out in H20 that still would've killed him. Jason would've tanked it and punched the persons head out their ass (happened in the comics). Jason owns Michael in actual combat. Though if he was alive still like he was in part 2, 3, 4 and the 2009 remake fighting Mikey that be a bit more interesting lol

Both are great franchises. I find the subtly of Halloween to send shivers down your spine. Whenever you hear that iconic music, you frantically look around on screen to see if you can see him. Or when it gets quiet, you see a brief shadow move and notice he's been standing in the dark corner the whole time. A good horror icon doesn't have to rely on jumpscares to be entertaining. You feel helpless with how methodical and patient Michael is. That no matter how fast you run, or how far you go, or where you hide. He'll find you. Like a scary Liam Neeson.

to be fair that's also likely true of Black Christmas and Michael...and Psycho and Billy for that matter. There was good reason Halloween was invested in (however moderately}, the formula had been proven well before Halloween, the slasher formula was cheap and easy to do and as such a return was likely at the time...granted Halloween's sheer success blew the concept into the full mainstream, but there are lots of films that follow that notion that predate it by a long time. Peeping Tom is basically a slasher film and was released in 1960...kind of flopped if memory serves but in retrospect it's become well regarded...unsettling notion actually, a killer that stabs women to death with a tripod leg so he can record their faces while dying... Honestly I grew up with all these, Halloween, Friday and Nightmare on Elm Street were all legends even when I was a little kid, love 'em all about equally in their own right, Halloween kicked things off in the mainstream, Friday did what it did but amped the gore up to serious levels and Nightmare kind of was the most unique notion of them all, a pedophilic killer who invades dreams. All of them got a bit silly later on, Freddy got all one-linerish and less creepy, the Thorn trilogy started kind of weak and just got horrible by part 6 and Friday got castrated eventually by the censors as the series went on but the original two or three of each of them (and yeah, that includes the unsung awesomeness of Halloween 3 Season of the Witch) are legendary...

This is honestly true. Jason is my favorite horror icon, easily. For most of the points made, too. His initial empathetic backstory all the way to his unforgiving brutal and creative ways of killing. Plus I just love the way the dude looks. However the Halloween movies really are just...better....They started treating Jason like some hoakey Clifford the big red dog shit. “Here’s Jason in the big apple!” “Here’s Jason in space!!” The franchise became a joke after the first 3 or 4 movies and Jason wasn’t even scary whatsoever...the Halloween movies at least kept the tone of unsettling horror, even with Kung fu busta rhymes..... Man, zombie Jason sure looks sick as fuck though....

The Cult of Thorn plot was EXCELLENT in Halloween. The plots of all the Halloween movies - even Halloween 3 - were linked together that way. Halloween 3 could be brought into the plot because all of those people who lived in that town and worked for the Silver Shamrock company were members of the cult. And this actually works perfectly with bringing Ash from the Evil Dead / Army of Darkness movies into the equation, because the Necronomicon could be what these cult members use.

Let’s settle this in one comment. Halloween is a movie that’s suspenseful and is one of the best, if not THE best, horror movie. If you want a legitimate creepy horror film, then that’s your film. Michael myers is definitely the more scary killer. For the most part he’s quite realistic which adds to the tension because of the relatable environment F13 is a series where your more likely to be entertained then scared. The main selling point is the kills. Each movie has at least one memorable kill. The first film has the famous arrow scene, the second film has the spear through the bed, the third film has the eye pop scene and the harpoon kill, Friday the 13th part 4 has the corkscrew kill and Jason’s first real death by Tommy Jarvis, the 5th film....had the candy bar scene, part 6 had the rv kills and the heart punch, part 7 had the weedwacker kill and the scene with Victoria being decapitated, part 8 had the toxic waste barrel scene and the dance floor kill, part 9 had Jason’s explosive death, the remake had Trent’s death and the tomahawk kill. So if you want a legitimately scary film, Halloween is your film If you want a film to just have fun with the f13 series has you covered. Just steer clear of part 9, and Jason x

Still I do respect that Friday the 13th didn't have to retcon or reboot itself and ignore entire entries up until the 9th film Jason Goes to Hell. Halloween 3 isn't a part of the michael myers storyline, 4-6 kills off Laurie Strode and then H20 pretends 4-6 didn't exist. Continuity wise at least Friday the 13th seems to edge out halloween for building off the last entry and not retconning entire films in the franchise until much later.

I love both, but people saying jason isn't realistic need to watch the original 4 movies. A psycho mental man who wears a hocky mask in the woods and kills people who enter his turf, in which jason thinks killing people will help honor/ bring his dead mother back to life (because he's not right in the head) IS a possibility. Honestly if they rebooted F13 like they did Halloween then they should make jason human again. Similar to something like part 4, and really get the feel of being alone in the woods knowing there is some crazy fully grown mentally defective man out there in the dark woods with fog and everything. I was aware that it started a couple years earlier as well, but I didn't really think it was fair or accurate to say "the creators of the series just wanted to rip-off Halloween. That is a blanket statement, that really is a tad overblown..... I would even say they are a bit different in the genre. FT13 is more popcorn films that give gore, nudity and cheap thrills, and the audience mostly wants to see what Jason will do next. Halloween is more methodical, suspenseful, and the audience wants to see the protagonist escape Michael... The only real overlap in my head is that they wear creepy masks that hide human emotion. Jason is more a monster than human, and Michael is the darkest emptiest aspect of being a human.... I am officially a nerd.

Putting the movies to the side and just comparing Michael & Jason as killers, I’ve always thought Michael was scarier. He has this mysterious character about him, the way he walks, his movements, even the way he just stands and do that lil thing where he tilts his head. He’s emotionless which you can see just by looking in his eyes, and people can say the same thing for Jason but it’s different. Michael Myers whole demeanor from Jason is just different I.t makes you more afraid. There are theories where people say that Michael isn’t even completely human, more so like a source of evil or the devil himself. I️ don’t find Jason scary at all
