I am so intrigued with the Lutterloh system! My mom and I bought it together in the early 2000's and sadly, I think I gave it away when I moved. I am so sad, and am thoroughly enjoying watching you use it to make beautiful things! Also, I have the Simplicity pattern you're going to use to make the zippered shirt for your husband, as I am going to make some of the pants for my husband! I'm looking forward to seeing how you like the pattern and I'm sure the shirt will turn out beautifully! I hope you have a great time in Austria!

Hi there. The Lutterloh system is so good for making me think about sewing a bit more rather than just following instructions and I'm so glad I can use it as my Mum felt guilty her whole life for not making the most of it! That Simplicity Men's pattern I am sure was on the Sewing bee programme a couple of years ago. Some one has warned me the neck zip can be tricky so I'm going to do a mock up first before I do the real thing. Do you know until you brought it to my attention I didn't notice it had a trouser pattern as well 🤣. My hubby's birthday is mid Feb so I do have some time when I get back... I think! Thanks for watching and so far so good in Austria, lots of snow ❄️👏🏼

@@socarole66 personally I think the fabric suits you but there must be something about it that is making you think its good but not great. That top is beautiful, Carole! You have great attention to detail, that tie is perfect! I was naughty this week and ordered patterns from Simplicity’s website, like I need more. I caught the sale so I did sale a little money, right? That’s my excuse, anyway! I’m trying to sew the things that I want to this month because next mont starts the prom dresses from hell alteration nightmare! Dresses can only be altered so much until it turns into a complete remake! I have only had 1 ball gown alteration so far this month, but it’s not over. The balls in Mobile, AL start next month, so all the gowns will probably come flooding in before Feb 5. Great fun! Your other makes are great Carole, your daughter now has a nice set of pjs. Enjoy your trip, take lots of pics!

Hi Sue, I often look on the Simplicity website as the patterns come to the US way before they reach us, I noticed they had a sale! 😭 It is just not fair. I hadn't appreciated that a lot of your work all comes in at the same time, I bet you get so fed up of taffeta and girls by the end of it! You must be so much of a professional to cope with all the awkward fabrics, I only altered one of Katie's gowns once and that was enough for me! I did make a Ball Gown for myself back in the 1980's, bright red with boning and a bow on the back ha ha. I have no idea how I coped with that now 😂. Good luck and I will take lots of pics don't worry ❄️

@@socarole66 , thanks for your kind words. Yes I do get fed up, but I just keep say to myself, “ it’s just a couple of months”. Yes, the work trickles in most of the year, except for proms and the Mardi Gras ball season. Then I drown in gowns of every color and fabrics, it is painstaking work.

Really like your B6813 top! I just may have to get the pattern! 😉I think I might change it up a bit by sewing the ties within eye darts located in front, directly below the breasts. Hi Carole! I label my sewing area a while back by calling it my "sewing nook". My sewing nook takes up a good third of a back bedroom in our house; the rest of the room is full of storage pantry shelves. It has been this way since early-pandemic days when I decided I needed to do a little more "prepping" to have foodstuff, paper goods, etc on hand. I love my little sewing nook! I really like that 6813 top with the tie on the front side. Cute! The PJ's you make do look comfortable. I have a lounging pants pattern that I love to make up but I just wear them around the house. The hood-less hoodie top that you made for your daughter -- I like that!! You sure do have a lot of sewing lined up to do when you get back from vacation. Are there any fabric shops near where you'll be in Austria? No matter what -- enjoy your holiday in beautiful Austria! In March, where all will you be in Florida. It would be wonderful to have some other sewing sisters meet up somewhere, maybe go for a meal somewhere??? If time allows, that is. What do you think about that idea?
@socarole66 Жыл бұрын
Hi Deb, yes I love your Sewing Nook, It is the perfect little area for you and you can keep an eye on the food stock at the same time! Those PJ's are really comfy especially the trousers with the easy pocket detail. I love those pockets that you just sew on the front. I really must try making them in a more substantial fabric for jogging pants. I did initially look up fabric shops, there are loads then I remembered we are stuck for luggage allowance on this trip. Everything we are taking is so heavy, heavy jumpers, thick trousers, walking boots etc we just wouldn't get away with it 😭 Oh well, there is always JoAnns in March! Chris and I are staying in Buena Vista for 7 days and I will be going to the Expo on the Friday I think. Hopefully there will be lots of us there (Jen, Michelle, Trish, Andra, Mari?,)so it would be great to all get together.
