Karen Moon Hi Carole~really like your cushions. I once used the reverse fabric on a blouse and was happy with. The results. Very clever to use both side of fabric. Your dress is very smart, I can see you wearing it. Use a chunky necklace to finish the look. Also cute PJ’S and lovely blouse patterns. Enjoy your week,

Thank you Diane for your comment on the dress. Most people have given it the thumbs up, I may tweak it slightly but it will stay as a dress. That is the first non handmade t shirt I have worn for a long time 😂. I have made that dress pattern about 4 times before but used much safer fabrics!. I just bought the flipping out pattern. I plan to make one for my sister and a friend. And maybe one for me. Great job on the cushions. I have finished one Easter dress and have cut out the other four outfits. That is what I’ll be sewing this week.

Try this, switch sleeves on a pattern by matching the armseye of the sleeve you want to match the armseye of the bodice pattern you chose. Just overlay the two sleeve pattern pieces. A lot of times if they are from the same pattern company they will match. If you need to make a change, just trace out the new sleeve. I've done this many times in the last 60 years. Love your channel.

When I was 50 I decided to give the Oboe a go, it had always fascinated me but I have to admit I still prefer the flute, I just haven't got the breath for the Oboe and flute is so much easier. Hi Sue, hope all is well with you. The weather was kind of mixed for our stay but we still had a good time. Sorry about my Y'all (or y'awl as I said😂). You are right about the dress being bottom heavy I think although lots of people have said its ok. I may try some different options to see if that changes it and try it on again. I am not sure if I kept the bits that I had left of the floral. Those PJ's are such a winner but that will be the last long pair I make, I need to find a good pattern for shortie PJ's soon! FYI the R numbers are the RACK numbers... just as you said. The REAL number will actually be on the pattern instructions. They give the two numbers to track which ones sell better via the rack or the drawer. I hope that makes sense... I worked for JoAnn for nearly 7 years.

Do you have enough of the cotton fabric to do the lower band? I think that would take away your hesitation about the dress. The colors look very nice together. I think just using the same fabric for the bottom band would make all the difference.😊

I'm thinking that the color blocking on the top AND bottom may be what looks odd? Do you have any more of the floral fabric? Replacing that bottom band with more of the floral print might solve that. The seam would be hardly noticeable, 😉 and would keep the focus up by your face. The community band I'm in does 4 concerts a year, and our spring one is coming up as well. This one's the black-and-white concert attire, and I'm getting the urge to make a new black dress 🙃 (this happens every year, of course.....) Happy sewing!

Hi Lynn, it must be Spring concerts all round then! We do black and white for more formal concerts but this one is more like a run through. I have the same issue every time though, should I make a new black dress? Then I leave it too late 😂. I am going to have to hunt re the floral fabric as not sure I had some left. Love the cushions . I do like the dress but for me it’s the plain blue… might be the way my tablet shows the colour but it just doesn’t seem to work. Not sure what colour I would’ve done though so that’s not really much help. Sorry 😞

Thanks JoAnne, the plain blue really seems to be the problem. I tried a grey at the bottom and my family said a big fat NO!!!! It's still looking at me, there must be a solution to make me feel better about it but not sure what yet. So many people have said it's ok though? Am I worrying too much I wonder 🤣. Sorry to be unpopular, but on camera it looks to me like the color blocked dress really doesn’t go together very well. I say try it as a top. Hi Laura, thank you so much for your honest opinion as that is exactly what I need. The colours do blend together in real life but that chambray just makes it look wrong I know. I couldn't have the floral next to my skin as it is completely the wrong colour for me but I love the fabric! For some reason it will work as a top you are right. I need to see if there is a solution I am not thinking about! Thanks so much for your honesty, I appreciate it plus also your support for my channel 💗😊

I think the blue fabric is too heavy for the flowered quilting cotton and it would be better with a grey or blue plain same weight cotton.

I think the dress is really cute, and I'd definitely enjoy wearing it, but I suspect you won't wear it as a dress because you will always choose something else to wear that you are more comfortable with, so I'd make it into a top if I were you.

Hi Linda, that is a really interesting point of view. I don't have much chance to wear dresses to be often but I like some ready for when the Summer actually comes! I personally like it but Hubby wasn't convinced and he is normally a good judge of things. I would probably get more use if it was a top though, you are right. Hope all is well with you 💗😊

Thanks Freda, sadly in this country and with my lifestyle I only get to wear dresses on holidays and when we actually have a Summer! Hence why I make tops all the time 😂. 👗
