Carole I LOVE all your makes this week! Your sewing is stunning! How can you crank out so much stellar stuff so fast?? You are just like Adam!!! ❤ I’m feeling the live for butterick right now too. My Grandmother taught me to sew and ahe used Butterick exclusively. So far I have been happy with their instructions and I love all the new stuff they have this year. 🎉 it’s always good to see and hear you and I am so excited for us getting together soon! Hopefully, Chris understands that we are kidnapping you for a couple days.❤❤ Love you!

Thanks Trish, I choose quick makes, that is my secret unlike Adam the Pro! Isn't it funny how Butterick is getting the love from everyone. I have just picked up a pattern book today and there are so many in there I haven't noticed before that look so good! I couldn't believe that Butterick was the oldest so no wonder your Grandmother used it. So looking forward to our meet up in March and I think Chris is resigned to the fact he maybe by the pool alone 😂. Thanks for watching busy lady, big hugs from Dorset 😘🤗💕

Hi Carole, I have both Butterick 6388 and New Look 6439 patterns. You did a fabulous job on them. I absolutely love B6388 but I have not made it yet because it's warm here in FL. But I will someday. Also I discovered too that you have to be careful on planning to use fabrics that doesn't have a white reverse for the hi-lo top NL 6439. Also you have to watch out if you make a top with bell sleeves because that white reverse will show. Great job on those tops. I'm real excited to see what you have planned for 2023. I admire you for diving into the Burda pattern. I'm still not confident with it. Happy Friday and as always thanks for sharing!!

Hi Grace! Thanks for all your lovely comments. I really should have known better with that New Look top honestly, some times I am so keen just to dive in and start sewing I don't stop to think! I just love that Butterick collar but I get that you don't need that in Florida! I wore the top all day today and I loved that it was cosy without looking scruffy if you know what I mean. I was lucky with the Burda pattern as the instructions were clear on it, it must have been one of their easier ones 🤣. I am also so looking forward to seeing your makes in 2023, you are such a classy lady 😊🌸

Carole, I’ve got the Butterick pattern you’ve made up this week, the top is cut out and the pants are terrific. I really was surprised, they aren’t the feature of the pattern, the top is, but I wear those pants on quick rotation, when they’re clean, they’re on. FYI I drafted pockets for that 2 piece front, worked OK, but long and narrow, and might not do that again. It fits my phone, tho……take care. Love the grandkids, they grow fast.

I was annoyed with myself as I completely forgot to say about the pants in that pattern! I didn't realise they were included until I started cutting out the pieces. They look my kind of style so I am thrilled to hear they are successful, thank you! Thanks also for the info on the pockets, I actually cut them out but decided not to include them, I was going to shift them a little higher? The only trouble is I will inevitably just fill them with tissues as bless my grandkids, they always have runny noses 🤣 I really appreciate you taking the time to comment and I hope you have a good weekend. 🧵💕

I think the next Burda top will be better as I will make it slightly larger to be worn as a jacket, no sleeves can fit in the other one 🤣. Thanks for watching and enjoy your weekend

I loved this video and the pics at the end. Your butterick dress looks so nice. I made one last year but multisized at the hips (which was awkward with the triangles), then ended up taking some out because it was too big, I used a cotton sweatshirting with no drape, and the cotton was constantly getting stained. I thought I'd never make it again. Then I saw yours and have decided I need to try with different, more drapey fabric and see if I can do it without multisizing. It looks so cute on you! All your other makes look fantastic too. Really great inspiration. Thank you!

@socarole66 Жыл бұрын
Hi Melanie, thanks for your lovely comments. I am cross with myself actually as I meant to say about the sizing of the Butterick pattern, hopefully I will remember to mention that next week. Like you, I wanted to multisize as the hips were going to be a tight fit and that doesn't work with a knitted dress! I couldn't work out the triangles so decided to just cut between the S and M on the whole pattern, it worked thank goodness. I hope you have better luck if you try it again, its far simpler to make it slightly larger then trim off the sides 🤣. Thanks again and have a good weekend

Hi Deb, I just love this collar and honestly it was easier to do that adding a normal neckband! I want it on everything now and it is just so comfortable, warm yet not suffocating! I did get lots done last week but they were all quick projects, nothing fancy really plus we had a bank holiday with dreadful weather. I have to report both chocs are now eaten, yum! Carole, the Butterick dress and top are fantastic! What a lovely pattern! 💗 Thanks for bringing it to the forefront. I’m in love with your Burda jacket, too, and of course, the bag made by Adam is gorgeous. Did you find that the Butterick patterns were oversized? It’s been quite a while since I’ve used a Butterick pattern because I had a bit of difficulty with the sizing. It may have been before I started measuring the tissue for comparison; I’m really eager to try out the 6388 after seeing yours! I enjoyed your family pictures closing out the vlog. Hello Lynn! I forgot to say about the sizing on the Butterick dress, I always make a small but this time when I checked the measurements it was going to be a tight fit on the hips, I didn't want that with a knitted dress. I ended up cutting between the S and M line and it worked out ok. So in answer to your question, that pattern didn't run large 😂 I did check the pattern tissue this time which I have never done before, I am so glad I did. I hope 2023 is being kind to you so far , have a lovely weekend 🌸
