Temu (similar to Shein) produce their products in MASS quantities while paying their employees incredibly low wages. It encourages even more consumerism, especially in our country, which already has incredibly high rates of consumerism. Everything is so affordable, but at what cost? It might be SUPER cheap, even cheaper than goodwill these days! But there is a reason they can price these items so low. And it isn’t good. You know the saying, “if it’s too good to be true, most of the time it’s not”. Yes most everything is made from China. Walmart and most other big chain stores (small too) are no exception. You can only do so much to keep from supporting these types of extremely harmful outsourcing/mass production practices. But sites like Temu are on the TOP of the list for the most harmful. Love you Kim! Definitely do some research on this company to decide for yourself how you feel. ❤

So true. Only one youtuber I follow (Caroline Winkler) posted an apology for her viewers after researching them. Two other ytubers never addressed their sponsorship with Temu, even after many viewers spoke up immediately. Once Kim researches them, she'll be well informed.

Temu is basically like Shein. If something is unbelievably cheap for you, a different person in the supply chain has to pay for it in some way (terrible/no payment, child labor, hazardous materials, inhumane work conditions etc.) Personally, I try to stay away from Websites like this.

For my daughter’s first birthday we did a couple minimal decorations (balloons, streamers you know, the basic stuff) and a “smash cake” with her grandparents and a couple gifts we had chosen for her. That was pretty much it. Extremely low key but still felt like she was being celebrated. I don’t regret it at all, I had NO bandwidth at the time and it hit the sweet spot of not being too much for me but not leaving me feeling guilty of not properly celebrating her 1st birthday.

What are you using to watch this video? An iPhone? It's assembled in China with parts made in China, in Shenzhen where most products on Temu, Wish, AliExpress, are made and ship from as well. What about your car? Most parts in vehicles are made in China. Do you get clothes from Target? Made in China. The computer you use? Parts manufactured in China. There's a reason why global supply chains are so affected and prices increase when there are crises in China, so many of the products we use have parts made there.

I just looked up about temu on google and very controversial arguments but it said it was illegal to buy from a company in the Xinchiang region in China which is where forced labor is done. And said some things about tax issues. . And mainly im against any country that supprts other countries to go against America.

What has helped me when I want a specific cut is looking at salon Instagram profiles in my area and then looking at the pictures they post, seeing which hairdressers are doing a cut like what I want. A lot of salons post links in their insta bio to their hairdressers insta profiles so you can see even more pictures. Then schedule an appointment with that specific hairdresser who has pictures of haircuts that you LOVE. I know it’s still risky to go get your haircut from someone else, but whenever I haven’t wanted to do it myself, that is what I do. And I think a bob or shorter length hair would complement your style so much! It would help bring your granny beach chic style together if you had a cute bob to go with the fun patterns and bright colors that you wear.

I have an awesome from scratch GF Brownies recipe: 1 cup Tahini 1/2 cup coconut sugar 1/4 cup maple syrup 1 tsp vanilla 2 eggs 1/3 cup cocoa powder 1 tbsp Coconut flour 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/4 tsp salt 1/3 cup chocolate chips dump in all in mix and cook at 350 for 22-30 minutes! Delicious hubby approved! Try it, you'll like it! Doesn't taste like tahini at all.

The scale with which they produce is infinitely higher than Wal-Mart (yeah, for real!) and they basically use slave labor (like shein). Obviously places like Wal-Mart aren't fantastic, either, but I'd rather but from them than temu or shein. I know when claims to only put like 10% of what they make directly into landfill, but when they make millions of pieces per day, it means the waste is 10s higher than the next highest waster. I haven't seen temus numbers because I haven't looked ,but with the amount being produced, it's going to be similar.

Unsure if anyone posted this but the key to delicious gluten-free baked goods is to let it rest and hydrate for 30-60min before cooking. Gluten almost instantly hydrates but most grains take more time to get the same amount of moisture even with zanthan gum added. King Arthur's is my absolute favorite for brownies and funfetti cake and absolutely no one realizes it's gluten-free if I let it sit. I usually let it sit for like an hour mostly cause I gave adhd and I forget 😂

I finally did it and donated alot of my clothes and purses. The thrift store was thrilled. I had a bit of a panic moment and wanted to go buy them back 😅 but honestly its been great. Less clutter easier life ❤

I just cleaned out my fridge too. As I did it, I thought about how much easier it would be if everyone just put things back where they were supposed to go. My kids are adult, at least in age. I just got my hair cut for the first time in almost a year. It has gotten very long. It's still long. Why'd I bother? 🤣 No thank you on Temu for me either.

Kim, why don't you value yourself enough to go get a professional haircut? You set a great example in so many areas of your life, and obviously you like your hair, as you have had the same style for years. You do all the things, all the time. Why is it so difficult for you to make a hair appointment and go get a style consult? You aren't a hairstylist. Do some research and seek a professional that specializes in long hair, and make an appointment. You have been using the same excuses to not seek out a professional for years. It is time!!

Miss Whisk, this will add wings to your soul, please read. Using your big bag of peeled garlic, add 1/2 the bag to your food processor and pulse to bits. Add a dusting of salt as d a drink xcx le of olive oil and pulse again. Add to a gallon ziploc and flatten to the about one inch height. Using the back of a long knife, score into one inch by one inch cube, cutting about 2/3 way through the cube. Lay flat in the freezer and in a short time you have an endless ready supply of fresh garlic cubes ready to saute, use in sauce or dressing, and as needed. MUCH better tasting than the very weak bottled stuff. 3 minutes prep for months of utility. Love your vids, my friend.

Kim, here’s my experience with the big 1st bday party. I did one for my son. About 50 people. He was MISERABLE! He was cutting teeth so he was cranky. Everybody wanted to love on him and he just wasn’t having it! He got so many gifts that we saved half of them and rewrapped them at Christmas time and he reopened them again!🤣 He never knew the difference. It was overstimulating for him and when my daughter came along 2 years later… we didn’t do that for her. We had a small party with immediate family and it was so much nicer. So do what you think will be best for him at this time in his life. 🎉
