It is also important to say that she is the sylph of space - someone who heals or helps space or using space. She uses her chainsaw to cut thing...to help them, like with the mother grub's metriorb, or Tavros' legs. Or the moment when she used the scarf to close a hole in her body. And she is good in Auspisticism - putting space between people to help them! She also had a sewing machine, and it was theorized, that being the sylph of space she would literally sew holes in spacetime, as a Problem Sleuth reference.

I think it’s also possible to make a connection between Kanaya and the well-know tale of Bloody Mary, considering that her last name MARYam has the name Mary in it, and the fact that she turns into a rainbow drinker and needs blood to survive, alluding to Bloody Mary. (Also the ghost in Bloody Mary is supposed to be extremely pale like Kanaya is after being revived, though I doubt that was intentional.)

I'd say one thing on Kanaya being able to stand after being shot by Eridan. In older mythology vampires are called walking dead or already dead. It was even referenced in pesterquest by mspa reader when he thought that Kanaya wanted to be walking dead. So it makes sense not only for her to become rainbow drinker after death, but also being able to walk.

Um....it may have been different for the trolls, but if they had anything in common with the humans, Kanaya doesn't _have_ a mother. She and the rest of the A2 trolls are like Jane, Roxy, Dirk and Jake; she's her own progenitor.

actually, that's only true for Porrim and the trolls of her generation. consider how Nana Egbert, Grandpa Harley, Mom Lalonde, and Bro Strider were direct paradox clones of themselves, but John and Jade were made from the combined genes of Grandpa and Nana, and Rose and Dave were made from the combined genes of Mom and Bro. in the case of both the trolls and the humans, it's the "ancestor" generation that undergoes paradox cloning, while their progeny is made from their genes combined. this means that none of the trolls or their ancestors were actually born from the mother grub on Alternia. the ancestors were cloned, and then the trolls were all born of the ancestors' combined genes. which does make them all related, but honestly, it's been established that this is nothing new for trolls. family isn't a thing that really exists for them... culturally, there's really no way for a troll to track their lineage in the way humans can, and genetically speaking, all the "ingredients" for producing infant trolls are 100% mixed together anyway... even if you wanted to separate bloodlines to keep them from combining, there'd be no practical way to do it. trying to parse whether certain trolls are siblings or cousins or something, doesn't even make any sense.

6:22 I thought that the trolls were ectobiologized by Karkat, meaning that Mindfang and the Dolorosa wouldn't have caused Kanaya and Vriska. Unless what happened is that the grubs Karkat made only became the ancestors of their respective timelines. The Karkat grub going back in time to be Kankri's biological ancestor instead of a Kankri grub being meteored to Beforus.

Some of the grubs would have been made by mixing "DNA" of two of them. I think she is guessing who would be ecobiolgical siblings based on how certain characters interact with each other. For example more than likely Dirk and Roxy would have hitched up, if there was no paradoxes/time hijinks involved.

Simply due to the fact that their looks cannot be the same, simply going by blood and horns. Due to ectobiology every troll of the same family would need to look *exactly* the same. And therefore Vriska's and Kanaya's interactions are not 'weird'.
