On shoes: Vriska is a thief, an active class. Rose is a seer, a passive class. Aranea is a sylph, also passive. BKE thought that every aspect has two shoe colors given to active and passive classes respectively, mostly based on light god tier shoe colors.

If Vriska hadn't "created" Bec Noir the trolls would have ruled over the kids universe, society would have been very different there and most likely things like The Condesce infiltrating humanity wouldn't have happened. There would definitely be some kind of unclosed time loop, which would have resulted in a doomed timeline. Of course that's ignoring the fact that Bec Noir showed up before Vriska decided to do anything.

Remember how Aranea switched the story to a doomed timeline and then everyone died and John retconed stuff based on the doomed timeline? What do you think the alpha timeline was actually like?

I think Aranea did actually successfully Sylph-of-Light that into the alpha timeline as part of her plan, forcing paradox space/fate/God/whatever to give John the power to rewrite the alpha timeline.

John being forced to retcon everything by Game Over also brought back Vriska, who put Jade to sleep and led the charge to take down Jane. If Jane and Jade had been on the Condesce's side in the Collide battle, Jade wouldn't have been corralling the dogs, but more importantly, Jane probably wouldn't have been willing to heal the various deaths. So maybe Aranea was always meant to change the timeline in the weird way that everything in Homestuck retroactively causes itself to happen.

@@jacketofdiamonds Aranea never intended to fix things by accidentally going on a suicide mission. She *had* planned on dooming as many timelines as possible; in essence, take a sledgehammer to as many transformer boxes until something breaks. She really didn't know what she was doing or what it may have entailed. P.S.: As for the "alpha" timeline, LE's version, I prefer to refer to that as the "False Alpha Timeline." Inevitably it would recreate the same scenario ad infinitum.

The original alpha-timeline can be what BKEW described in all his theories, Trickster Vriska stealing the light of the green sun, LE possessing Jake , all things working by classical narrative arcs, all foreshadowing and checkovs guns fulfilled (and the retcon could be a meta explanation for why the foreshadowing was not fulfilled). Although LE also probably wins, because everything was orchestrated by him (partially through Doc Scratch), and he is already in a perfect situation to win, the only thing that changed was the retcon. There is also "altstuck", which i think is based on this premise.

I think the shoe color tells us whether the player's class is passive or active. Seer and Sylph are passive classes, while Thief is an active class. In other words, those with "cool" colors (i.e. blue, cyan, green, etc.) are passive classes, while those with "hot" colors (i.e. red, orange, yellow, etc.) are active classes.

Yep, the Light aspect is about information, meaning, and luck, specifically the reduction of unwanted probabilities. Light is also about the information you recieve, as each particle of light from a distant star travels countless miles only to meet its end either in your eye, or against any random rock. Void is about distraction, unimportance, and proficency( that is where skill renders luck meaningless). Void is also intuition I guess? Knowledge had without any kind of direct information. I love the opposing aspect thing for exactly how much it helps to understand the squerrelier aspects.

I don't see why you say that light is in Hope's domain. You show Jake's Hope Sphere, but considering Aranea, the Sylph (one who creates) of Light, caused it to happen by forccefully healing Jake, it's quite possible that the light of the sphere comes from the Light player

Actually, John was about to add a harlequin missing the opposite arm from the one he had prototypes into Jade’s Kernelsprite. If Vriska hadn’t interrupted, it’d be impossible to use the rings because their arms would both vanish when they put it on, which would make a doomed timeline with a literally impossible boss.

As a Thief of Light, Vriska takes the importance from everyone, literally steals the spotlight, and wants everyone to know this. Yeah, it's not like she lost her arm and some of her eyes, had almost everyone hate her, got beaten to a pulp and bled to death to then get revived again only to get stabbed to death by her best friend and die for good to then date a version of John who then got killed by LE, merge with the person she bullied, get another partner only to then be dumped for not being evil enough and then to top it all of got bullied by another version of herself and got forgotten by everyone and lost all relevance in the story. And the new vriska got hit in the head by the sky and got sucked into a black hole before she could witness the conclusion to all her hard work and then got plopped out in what must be her worst nightmare, the least cannon/relevant part of paradox space. Oh, and then she got fucked by a clown. That all happened. But yaknow. No consequences or anything.

One Vriska theory that I've seen suggested that wasn't covered here was that her character may have draw some inspiration from 1980s video game journalist and reviewer Scorpia, who wrote for Computer Gaming World after she rose to fame as the moderator of online service CompuServe's gaming fourm. She was a zealous videogamer, and did not suffer poorly made games lightly, being sure to give them scathing reviews in her monthly magazine column.
