Here is what you'll need!
Buttermilk-Fried Chicken (US)
Serves 3
INGREDIENTS
6 chicken drumsticks & thighs, bone-in
Marinade
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon white pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 cups buttermilk
Breading
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
Oil, for frying
PREPARATION
Combine the chicken with all the marinade ingredients in a large bowl. Stir to make sure each piece of chicken is coated evenly, then cover with cling film and chill for about an hour.
Combine all of the breading ingredients in a large bowl, then roll the marinated chicken pieces in the flour, shaking off excess. Repeat with the rest of the chicken.
Heat oil in a skillet over high heat to about 350°F.
Fry 3-4 pieces at a time for about 15-20 minutes until the breading is dark golden brown, flipping several times to ensure the breading cooks evenly and does not burn. The heat of the oil should drop to about 320°F.
Drain the chicken on paper towels or on a wire rack, resting for about 10-15 minutes.
Serve!
Brazilian Chicken Wings (Frango À Passarinho)
Serves 3-4
INGREDIENTS
10 chicken wings & drumettes
6 cloves garlic, finely minced
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon pepper
¼ cup lime juice
1 cup flour
Oil, for frying
Lime wedges and fried chopped garlic to serve
PREPARATION
Combine the chicken with the garlic, salt, pepper, and lime juice in a bowl until evenly coated. Cover with cling film and refrigerate for about an hour.
Dip each chicken wing in the flour, shaking off excess.
Heat oil in a large pot to about 375°F.
Fry half of the chicken wings at a time until dark golden brown. The oil temperature will drop to about 350°F.
Drain on paper towels.
Serve with lime wedges and fried garlic!
Japanese Popcorn Chicken (Karaage)
Serves 2-3
INGREDIENTS
3 boneless chicken thighs, chopped into 1-inch chunks
3 cloves garlic, finely minced
2 tablespoons ginger, finely grated or minced
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons sake
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon sugar
½ cup potato starch
Oil, for frying
Lemon wedges and parsley to serve
PREPARATION
Combine the chicken with the garlic, ginger, soy, sake, sesame oil, and sugar in a bowl until evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for about 1 hour.
Heat oil in a pot over high heat until about 340°F.
Give the chicken a stir to re-incorporate the marinade, then sprinkle the potato starch on top. Lightly toss until somewhat combined, but do not mix until each chicken piece is evenly coated because the uneven pockets of potato starch will give the chicken its signature unique texture.
Fry half of the chicken at a time, until light golden and bubbly, about 5-7 minutes. The oil temperature will drop to about 320°F. Rest the chicken on paper towels and increase the heat.
Heat oil to about 390°F, then fry the chicken again for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Drain the chicken on paper towels.
Serve with lemon and parsley!
Spicy Korean Chicken
Serves 2-3
INGREDIENTS
10 chicken wings and drumettes
1 cup cornstarch
Oil, for frying
Sesame seeds, for serving
Batter
½ cup cornstarch
½ cup flour
2 teaspoons salt
1 cup water
Sauce
2 tablespoons soy sauce
¼ cup honey
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
2 tablespoons Korean chili paste (gochujang)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon ginger, grated
PREPARATION
Mix the ingredients for the batter in a bowl until smooth with no lumps.
Heat oil in a pot to 340°F.
Dip a chicken wing into the cornstarch, shaking off excess, then dredge the wing into the batter, dripping off excess.
Fry half of the wings at a time for about 5-7 minutes, until light golden. The oil will drop to about 320°F.
Drain the wings and increase the heat.
Heat oil to about 375°F.
Fry the wings a second time until golden brown and crispy. Drain and set aside.
In a pan, combine all the ingredients for the sauce and stir until bubbling. Toss in the wings

We made the Japanese and the Korean, & omg sooooo good! For the Korean, we doubled up on the sause, but next time we plan to use half the salt and use 1tbs less of soy sause cause it was a touch too salty, but in that good way, but on the brink of being too salty. If you don't double up on the sause like we did u should be fine. The Korean is great with Rice. We made extra of the sause/marinade without the cornstarch, and reduced it till it got a lil thick, and drizzled that on the rice with the chicken, sooo yummy! Another great family night thanks to Tasty!!! Good comfort food on a chilly night. Can you believe our 1.5 yr old liked it too!!?? Thank you Tasty for bringing family and friends together!!

So yes, people can write in whatever language they please to, and all she did was comment on the chicken and it didn't even have to do with you, so if you couldn't read it why bother commenting on it? Or if you couldn't understand, you could've google translated it, or comment something like "what does that mean" and not be rude.

John G It is a brazilian version of Pub. They are better known as "boteco". Brazilian fried chicken wings is the most notable appetizer (french fries as well). At night, you can meet some friends and have a good time enjoying cold beer, good food and live music (samba, mpb, rock, ...) sitting in one of those tables scattered on the sidewalk and enjoy the sight.
@johng5261

oops sorry about that. Yeah I'm from the US, we use the word bar mostly. When you put it in quotes I think it had an alternative meaning. Yes, even in the US, fried chicken wings is probably the most common bar food. Even in Colombia, people will eat wings at bars mostly and meet up with friends before going for wings etc.Maybe a slightly universal late night food in the western hemisphere.

StarvingSound well the 2 Thai fried chicken i watched they mashed up their marinades. their garlic was whole, their spices were still whole and so they ground up everything together. they probably saw that recipe and thought it's a little too long to make.

Around the world doesn't necessarily have to mean every country or more. If you have them from different countries it's still around the world. And it had two western countries and two eastern countries.

Albani310 Heat is too high, meds/high should be good. Don't add honey first or you can mix all the ingredients together before putting into pan. Non-stick pan is easier.

Whisk honey with the rest of the ingredients first. The soy sauce will dilute the honey! And then put it in the pan.

Honestly, sometimes I wonder if this channel even has fans. Like actual, legit fans that support whatever they do. Cause everytime I look at the comment's section of any of their videos, all I see are people complaining about or making fun of the title or the ingredients used or the background music or whatever.
@SP-wi9sv
@SP-wi9sv 4 жыл бұрын
That's a little extreme.... 1. This is a big channel, with lots of different opinions, and ofc that's gonna show in the comments. And obviously this channel has fans, look at the subscriber count? 2. People who like the video will like and move on, people who are dissatisfied will voice their concerns in the comments. Look at the number of likes on this video, 67 thousand likes. Just because a few people are complaining in the comments, doesn't mean there aren't any "leGiT fAnS" . 3. This video's title is definitely a bit dodgy, the "around the world" implies a much further scope than four countries. Also, I've never seen people complaining about the background music on Tasty videos, but you do you. 4. Blind loyalty is so stupid. Should a fan of something support "whatever they do"? What if Tasty made a sincerely shitty video involving cooking faeces? Would you "aCtuAl, leGiT fAnS" support it regardless? If fans of a channel dislike a video, they have the right to dislike it, and shouldn't say "oh but I'm a fan of Tasty so I guess I love it".

Why do you guys never let the chicken rest on kitchen roll? It gets rid of excess oil and it keeps the chicken crispy.
@anisesalazar6113
@anisesalazar6113 7 жыл бұрын
Contrary to popular belief, the reason why fried chicken is rested on a rack instead of a kitchen roll is 1) It let's the excess oil and chicken juices to drain off instead of being soak up back into the breading and 2) It cools down more evenly, the heat will not create condensation and cause yet again a soggy bottom. I tried this technique with my fried chicken and it works incredibly and the crust is left crunchy all over. I was mislead by using the kitchen paper for many many years, you shoukd try it :)
