Clarity of speech, great disposition, entertaining background information, and enthusiastic presentation. Your recipe worked perfectly and was an encouragement to dig deeper. Going to repeat again today.

Hi there! The first thing I did when I got back home from work was to watch this video. Big mistake because now I'm hungry as ...!😆 A long, long time ago I used to make them myself too. Back then I used " Strudelteig" for the jacket because Asian goods were still hard to find where I live. You know, the kind they use to make Apfelstrudel like the one from the song "My favorite things" in The Sound of Music! It also worked pretty well. Vielen Dank, Khun Pailin!

Oooh. Love these on noodles. Aha. Moisture is the culprit and my friend would not believe me to skip the egg and get some potato starch in the filling if we would fry the wontons. But again, we used to just fry leftover steamed wontons (yeah, they look sad when the excess overhanging wrappers are kinda like hard pasta) from the fridge and turn them into booze bites.

Hi Pai! What do you do with all the left over oil? I LOVE fried wonton and anything fried, and would love to try the wonton and thai style fried chicken receipes but I just don't know what to do with all the oil after frying. :( Do you have any tips or how to "throw away" the oil without pouring it down the drain?
@faizaahmad25786 жыл бұрын
Why do u wanna throw it .. u can clean the bits left in oil and cover and store and then when u need u can reuse for frying something savory in that as crispy chicken nuggets, or stuff like that
@PailinsKitchen6 жыл бұрын
If the oil has been minimally used, like after frying these wontons, and it hasn't turned dark, hasn't started to foam, and doesn't have a bad smell...then you can strain off any food scraps and keep and reuse it again. I usually only use frying oil no more than twice. Once the oil is ready to be thrown away, I put it in a sandwich bag (something with a zipper) and put it in the garbage. Make sure the garbage doesn't have anything sharp in it that could puncture the bag!
@gingersnap32135 жыл бұрын
only fry it 1-2 minutes ?? I’m not really a chef but I want to try this recipe, but how long does it take to boil to be down and how long does it take to fry to be done ??

Hi Robert! In the written recipe hot-thai-kitchen.com/fried-wonton-recipe/ she mentions "Do not overstuff (no more than 1 tsp of filling per piece) as the wrappers only take 30 seconds to 1 minute to fry, so there won’t be time to cook a big ball of filling. " Re the wrapper size I'll have to get back to you :)
@AdamHotThaiKitchen5 жыл бұрын
So I just asked and apparently wonton wrappers (as opposed to dumpling wrappers) come in one size and the only choice is square or round. She THINKS this is about 3 inches but can't swear by it as she didn't choose by size. Dumpling wrappers on the other hand have several size options. Sound right? Cheers! Adam
