You should try running it in front of the amp clean. Running it in the effects loop is cool, but it would be nice to see how it sounds in both situations.

I don't understand why people run pedals into the effects loop, especially distortion or overdrive pedals - I like to blend the distorted tones with the preamp tones.

@@hinjurock They do it because you get zero color from the preamp of the amp. Obviously the power amp still plays a role but the tone is coming from the pedal.

The best compromise I had was with two cascade overdrive, but I'm so lazy bringing with me more than one pedal. My first impression about this pedal was nice, now I'm waiting to join it in the mix, but I'm quite sure it will do its work very well.

Maybe for the next FAQ: What microphone? the Lewitt 440 microphone? Looks strange if i understood right. and the placement of a lewitt 440 directly in front of the speaker? Why dont u use the sm 57/58 or sm7b (about 300bucks) or the sennheiser 906 maybe mixed with a shure, preferably the sm7b.. Cause the you switched a while ago to the M160 as a preference mic (before sm57, correct me if im wrong) Could you explain, why you chose a ribbon mic as perference over every other mic? (Or now the Lewitt whatever it is but no 440 O_o ) The thing is, the sound taking your mic in sweden up, is not the sound anyone can hear in his private space. (compression, youtube, my own speakers etc.. I try to say, little nuances that the M160 can pick up... im not sure if they will be noticed. (not character of the sound!!) Wouldn't it be wiser, to pick an industry standard mic with which 80% of your viewers record every day and/ or use them live? (Not to sound exactly like what you hear in the vid, but... but just a good sounding mic as a reference. but there are lot of others, that dont cost 600 dollars... What do you guys think?
