I don't think it made a big difference, but wouldn't it have been better for Ethan to activate the Atlas and Temple Bell on other people's turns? He could have swung a single Demon at each opponent on his turn to trigger Zurzoth three times, then activate the Atlas or Bell on an opponent's turn to trigger Zurgoth an additional two times (per artifact tapped).

@@metalfreekz13 I have an Eldrazi Tribal ThrAXUMUNDUR!!! deck. So much more oomph than the normal zombie tribal build. I seriously don’t know why more people play it, the Annihilator triggers and general ramp you have to do is something that works wonderfully synergous with what you are already doing with Thraximundar.

With the hellion and furnace out, wouldn't the devils entering cause 4 damage each instead of 3? They deal 1+1 then 2x

The opponents get to choose the order of the replacement effects, as they're the ones being affected by both. Obviously, they chose double first, then add 1, for a total of 3 damage.

@@DarkEinherjar but I thought since it's their triggers, they choose. Like with the esika deck, they searched for a card THEN esika resolved because they sorted the triggers that way

@@Bammab127 These are not triggers, they're replacement effects. When two or more replacement effects try to replace the same thing, the affected player or the controller of the affected object gets to choose the order in which the replacements happen.

Someone should tell Ethan to activate Otherworld Atlas on an opponent's turn, because he can get more devils that way. In other words, attack with the devils on your turn to make opponents draw and to get a max of 3 devils, and then on an opponent's turn activate the atlas to get 2 more. Zurzoth triggers whenever an opponent draws their first card EACH turn (and it isn't that opponent's turn), thus making the other two oppenents draw on the third opponent's turn still gets you devils.

He did do that later in the game. As a Zurzoth player myself, I'm guessing he had cards in his hand he didn't want to discard.

pretty sure alex could've dealt 4 with each Impact Tremors trigger, since you can stack the replacement effects of Hellion and then Furnace and to deal (1+1)x2=4

I'm not sure I'm correct (in fact I hope I'm wrong because of my borborygmos deck) but I heard that the reciever of the damage gets to decide how the triggers go on the stack..

This is correct. The player affected by replacement effects decides which order they are applied.

@@jadeavenger2376 you are correct in saying the person taking damage gets to decide the order. Whenever multiple replacement effects would apply, the player they apply to (either the person being damaged, controller of something that's being damaged, person who would draw a card but instead has to do something else...) can choose the order they apply in. Notably though, replacement effects are not triggered abilities and do not use the stack, meaning they can't be responded to.
